Ninja Gaiden 3 is out and the reviews are mixed. I hope that by the end of this you will understand why and also the changes mad. Lets start with the reviews. There are two sides two how the game is received at the moment. The side that sees the game as a good game gives it a decent mark just shy of perfect by two or fewer points. On the other side of the coin are those who comparing it to the last two installments and sees the game as missing the mark complete. Because of these two sides you will get mixed reviews.
Gameplay is different in a few ways. Essences and potions are gone thus the leveling system and healing style we have come to love is not here. Instead ninja magic is how you would heal yourself. Ninja magic is now only one over the top summon spell. That turns the enemies devoured by the dragon you summon into health for you. Ninja magic is now one bar and not little symbols under your life bar. It charges slowly while you are in combat growing with each enemy you take out. Your weapons have been reduced to one sword in which you can look at the menu in-game by pressing select. You have to as that is the only way to access it. Also even though you only get a sword that upgrades itself with story if you press up on the d pad there is an equip screen.the sword icon is the only thing but it is there. The ultimate technique has changed as well. Instead of the powerful attack you now have a charged three slashed assault for most of the game. I saw most time because the number of strikers will change when you get the blade of the arch-fiend. You get a bow with armor piercing arrows and your throwing knives. Also you do get a variety of enemies from the normal soldiers to robotic feinds.
The story isn’t bad it may not be a block buster but it is good. The voice acting is good as well so I don’t understand why it is getting a bad rap. We shouldn’t forget fans that the last two games basically had the same story for different reason. So having a story where Ryu village isn’t destroyed and his people are nearly wiped out.
In short this game isn’t meant to be like the other installments. So comparing it to them is not exactly correct to do. So please if you don’t think you want to own it rent it and try out as it is meant for new comers. I must confess about this because it aggravates me so why did they make the curse part of the gameplay? It is the one part of this game i really can’t stand. This is what happens the curse affect kicks time and again in the game and when it does so Ryu is brought to a snail pass with the camera over his right shoulder like it is your buddy seeing if you are okay. During this time the people trying to kill circle you and you have to drag your body over to them and kill them. Granted it only takes one swing but still the process is bothersome to say the less.
Also a weapon complaint has been heard and free dlc yes i said free is on the way. THe link will show of the trailer of dlc gameplay. I only hope there is more and they bring more weapons.
