With a new Guilty gear coming to the arcades(They haven’t said anything about PS3 or 360) I figured that a little explaining is in order. At this point i usually put up spoiler warnings but given guilty gear complex story I will say explaining the lore. If you don’t want to know then please stop here.
This rock rolling fighting game story starts with the discovery of an endless energy. This was soon dubbed as magic. Soon after the discovery of magic the world begins to look at bio weapons called Gears. This leads to a holy war with the gears being led by their leader who was calling herself Justice. The war ended with Justice defeat. The first installment guilty gear.
The game is a tournament that is used to break Justice out of her prison. She released but is soon defeated by the same man who defeated her in the first place. Sol Badguy after this the x series comes into play.
The series introduces Dizzy to the mix who is the daughter of Justice. (The creator has yet to say who the father is but the it seems as though it is Sol BadGuy.) Sol defeats Dizzy but leaves her alone and from there the series that we all know begins.
Sol is the main character of the series. He is one of the few human gears in the guilty gear universe and also one of the most powerful characters. He is an expert in martial arts that over a hundred years. He wields the power of fire and uses the fire seal sword as his weapon in the x series. In the overature installment he sounds more like a scientist then he normally does. He is also one of the few characters in the game who knows that man in-depth. Sol also act as Dizzy father figure and was left to raise Ky son Sin on Ky behalf. He is also the one who made the seal weapons none as outrage. Since he first appeared in the series with it and has used it since it is hard to say when his power beigns and the fire seal sword begins. In overature he no longer has the fire seal sword and it was never explained why. In overature Sol modifies the fireseal for what reason is unknown. My guess is that he did so in order to tape into more of his gear power without transforming or using the dragon install. Here is the image. Sol expertise in science is unknown but since he made the seal weapons he is most likely a metalologist as well as an expert in magic. A new move was introduced in accent core plus called flame distortation once. Flame distortation works just like dragon install and can last through out the fight. However it will consume your life while activated. In Xrd his dragon install has become a merger of xx and Overture. with the head f a dragon a red silhouette while his sword is black with great power as demonstrated with Tyrant Rave beta as it change from a upper cut with a fireball into an upper cut with a powerful blast that travels the length of the screen. For those who are shocked by this don’t be. Remember Overture and what that man was told by Raven. The Dragon Install is encroaching meaning getting stronger. This does change things as originally the dragon install allowed Sol to tap into his gear powers with out changing. Now he does transform but not to the extent we saw in Overture. This may mean that he has no problem showing his gear side any more. The animation for Sol dragon Install finish has changed. Now he changed back into human form as his gear forum turns to flames and leaves him smoking. It has been revealed that Sol sword is called junkyard dog and that it is unfinished. in the story unseen sign he is working on it when he senses Valentine and goes of to fight her saying that he thought he had more time. This could imply that junkyard dog was made to deal with those who posses backyard type magic. IN xrd Sol, Ky and Sin go to face Valentine in Japan. Sol realizes that it is a trick but fights the fake Valentine. When the fight is over Sol and the others watch as the cradle a weapon that Valentine brought forth is activated over Babylon taking out a town. Ky then announces that he met a woman who spoke of this. Before Ky can explain what he is talking about Ramlethal grabs attempting to taek him out with a self destruct but is stopped by Elphelt. Even though she saved Sol he doubts if she is really their alley. At the same time Sol reveals to us that he is not a people person. In a flash back to when he was human sol attitude to people is the same. Eventually finding out that the cradle is being used to revive Justice the world acts to stop it and the conclave. With the help of the gear maker Sol break the cradle shield but they cannot stop it. This was interesting as the gear maker revealed that Sol body can generate a great amount of power. Justice is brought back but is taken down by Dizzy overpower the body nearly killing Chronus. It did not end their as the one behind the Valentines takes over Elphelt body and has her attack sol and the others Sol breaks through showing that Elphelt can be saved and then says that he is going to get her back. Revelator begins with Raven being sent to get his help at the request of That Man in order to stop the one who is making Valentines from fully reviving Justice. Right now they have her body now they her mind or soul which Elphelt seems to be. Story mode has shown that Sol is infact Dizzy father, Ky father in law and Sin grandfather. Something the two didn’t take well.
Justice was defeated but now we have Sol and Asuka (That Man) looking to settle things. Something Sol isn’t ready for. With him needing to repair Junk Yard Dog and wondering about his skill he needs time. Time he may not have.

Ky is Sol rival and the law man. He was part of the same order as Sol but to his knowledge Sol stole the fire sword. He has no idea that Cliff said the can have it. Ky uses the most dangerous element in the guilty gear universe lightning. This alone has everyone praising he is a genius. But to see he true genius we have to look at overature which shows him adapting to magic he has never seen over coming it after one fight. It can be said then be said that Ky and Sol rivalry is fighting genius versus experience and power. His one down side is his loyalty to the law as he seems to almost follow it blindly. Ky and Sol both had alternate versions you can unlock in isuka which they stayed in dragon install mode. We have seen this from Sol in his story mode during his fight with I-no in her boss mode but this would be the first time Ky can do this. Both characters gain new moves. in Xrd he is king who is not scared to fight for himself now once again armed with the thunder seal he walks into battle ready to go. In xrd sol gains raw power why Ky gains more skill with the glinder a special move where Ky sets up a ring that shocks the enemy if they touch it and enhances the properties off all of his projectiles. He can do this in the air and on the ground. In unseen sign Ky is trying to keep his word to Dr. Paradigm by trying to convince the senate that humans can live together with gears. Hearing the threat made by Valentine Ky meets up with Sol and Sin in Neo New York. Ky tries to convince Sol to listen to him but Sol wasn’t haven’t so they fought. After fighting Sol they go to Japan. Seeing Ramlethal about to destroy Sol Ky ask for Elphelt to help. Most of the story Ky spent try to calm Sol or to break through to him. At one point he did as Sol try to explain that he only exist to kill gear and kill that man Ky finds a flaw with his logic and ask him why he spared Dizzy and raised Sin. Sol had no real response. Ky has also been doing things on his own as Paradighm shocked many when he releaved that Ky has help him dispersed gears through out the world who were technically harmless. (Remember making gears is illegal.) That is not where it ends though. When they going to stop the conclave once for all one of the members snuck up on Ky and shot him thinking he had killed him. To his surprise Ky stood back up regenerated with one red eye showing the signs of a gear. Once he took out the senator his eye returned to its originally color. I taking this as Ky infusing himself with gear cells and with his strong will and mind is in control of them. This is my theory at least. Ky family is related to Sol as we found out.
Dizzy is the daughter of Justice a kind gentle soul but seems to always go on a rampage when she blacks out and her dark wing Nero takes over. She has been dubbed maiden of the grove as she is always there for one reason or another. She is supposed to be protected by Jonny and the jelly fish pirates. But I no changes that when she attacks them on one of her rampages. It is hard to say how it ends due to the multiple story paths. In overature you don’t see much of her because she is sealed away by Ky in order to protect her. Using the thunder seal sword Ky put her in time distortion. Her ex version has necro install. Similar to Sol install it increase her power and speed only last a few mintues. In Xrd Dizzy makes an appearance in story mode revealing that the seal has been broken for some time. She help out with bring down the conclave. Dizzy will soon be entering Revelator as she won the polling to see the next character to enter the fray out of a wide field that included Order Sol and Baiken. I will update this post when I get more information.
Sin is Dizzy and Ky son. Since he a gear Ky thought it would be a good idea for him to be raised by Sol. In order to keep him and Dizzy safe Ky kept his distance from him and Dizzy causing Sin to believe that he didn’t care. This feeling of abdonemnt by his farther Sin showed more love to his mother Dizzy but at the same time still holds feels towards his farther Ky. Sin appeared in overture using a flag as his weapon his style of combat is a mix between Ky and Dizzy with some moves coming straight from his parents playbook. Sin character is trying to hold a love and hate relationship as he is about to say farther before catching himself as Ky lost to Sol and said Ky instead. Sin has been confirmed in the ggxrd as a playable character. Sin comes into the game with his flag and magic which is lightning based just like his father with a black energy with a red hue mixed with some of the moves. Sin also comes with a full stomach, a bar that as long as it has something in it allows him to unleash a wave of special moves. Once empty Sin must eat to refill the bar. His clothes are the same as they were in Overture and since he is still traveling with Sol his story should follow his closely. Sin is the middle point as he tries to brake the ice with the Valentines reminding of one of those character who can’t help but be friendly with people. Eventual thanks to him and Elphelt they break through to Ramlehtal through this and they learn where to set the last trap for the conclave. Sin spends a good part of the story mode defending Elphelt from Sol as he constantly attacks her verbally. When she is turned he takes it the hardest. Sin while board on Johnny ship asked Jack- O about relations that bring Sol and Ky to the knees as they realize they are related through Ky marring Dizzy.
The only way to describe I-no is trouble maker. She was introduced as the boss in xx and since then has stayed. She is a witch as one of the pics show her sealing away a demon with others around her. She works for that man the one who made the gears. But often times she does it with out him saying so and thus causes problems for everyone. In her endings she is imprisoned in some way or forum. I should also note that she seems to posses a way to damage Sol dragon install as in the story mode of accent core I-no hit him and he loses regeneration, super speed and strenght. Sol is left with a full bar of power as his only defesne agaisnt I-no and himself from the past. She is also pretty strong for a human as she can fight Sol and Dizzy at full power and be even with them. I-no has the power of time travel but says it is difficult. She was asked to go back in time to change so that the humans win by making sure Ky lives. According to a drama cd Dizzy picks up where Justice left off and Ky stops her. But since it is unclear when dizzy was born or when I-no went back it is hard to when this took pace. Also her hatred of Sol comes from him attacking her but for why is still unclear or how as she seesm to be able to handle herself. Her persona is short tempered as she talks nice at first but quickly changes her attitude to angery. She has been confirmed for Xrd with no major changes to her wardrobe. In xrd I-no reveals herself to be a time traveler from a distant future trying to change the course of events. She seems to blame Sol for this in a way but mostly Valentine. The proof of this can be found in her stage. it is five years into the future of Babylon. In story mode she arranges a meeting with the gear maker and Axl. Axl tells the gear maker that mans the message from the origin but we can’t hear it as only the one it is meant hear it can. It is a little funny moment. In Revelator I-no goes to wake up Jack-O only to have Jack-O escape from her causing a chase where a few people go after the rouge member of That Man crew. Her chase leads us to Axl and then Jack-O who drops a bomb shell as to what I-No is. A living irregularity made by the backyard. Something that doesn’t sit well with I-no who seems to have something funny as her eyes during the end of the episode kept changing from blue to purple and then to other colors.
Baiken is a bounty hunter who want revenge on that man. She is one of the few Japanese people left in the world of guilty gear. she also has to put up with Anji who is either chasing information or chasing her. She may only have on arm but in it place lies a small armory. She fight samurai style attacking you with floor mates and a katana. Also even though her right arm is gone she seems to hide other weapons like cannons and saws in its place. It is hard to say who she does it as it never came up. Appearing to protect Turner Baiken and May protect the one that will save all of the Japanese colony. With a new eys patch and a few add ons.
Baiken is going to be in Rev 2 as we saw her in Revelator story mode. She will have episode as well as a part in the story. Either than the eye patch not much as changed about the one armed samurai. At that is how it appears.
Anji is the man who wants to know everything. He wields the wind sealing weapons and has knowledge of magic as he used a sealing spell on Baiken. He will go to any length to get more information to prove this he has mad a deal with that man knowing that the world is after him and Baiken wants to destroy him.In xx Sol warns him that he will get soner or later because of this. He simply replies that if that does happen then it only means that he wasn’t up to the task.
Axl is a man who was thrown into the future for unknown reasons. He is an explosion expert but nothing else is said about him. To be honest he seems to be the one who is innocent and is always caught up in the madness of the characters around him.Axel is a basically being thrown threw time due to the fact that Raven an alternate version of himself exist the creator of ther seires then said that is not true and the two are completly different. I say through out because in story mode it never seems to end. All the man wants to do is go home to his girlfriend but the folks at Askygames wont let him. Has been confirmed for Xrd. His attire changed from xx with shorts and a long coat which looks baggy. Axl story has him bearing an messanger boy for the original(the man we see in the intro of ggxrd as the one who discovered the backyard.) Before he can deliver the message though he meets Bedman who tells him that he must be eliminated. the two fight with Bedman coming out on top and is ready to deal the final blow when I-no saves Axl. Axl sees a chance to deliver the message I-no will know where the man is and tries to tell her but before he can explain I-no fights him. After the fight Axl is finally able to get a word and tries to explain to I-no that he has a message from the Original for the Gear Maker. The Message is the future can be saved. I-no takes Axl to that man to relay the message from Origin. He then ran off as he didn’t what to make trouble. I should point out they don’t show you how he gets out of the backyard. Towards the end of the story mode Axl comes to accepts his power and the future he wishes as he helps Sol.
Faust is the mad doctor of guilty gear. He use to practice medicine but one of his patients died on him and he hasn’t been the same ever since. At the same time it doesn stop him from helping the other characters when they are done. Even though they may regret it after wards. May revealed that he is bald underneath the bag he wears. He is also the tallest character in the game. Faust may also have ties to Zappa as the ghost that haunts him my be one of his long dead patients. Faust has been confirmed for Xrd wearing the same wardrobe. In xrd story mode Faust is asked to help out May by Jonny as she experiencing headaches. Faust eventually says yes but notices something wrong and eventually tells Jonny not to let May near the colony. (He doesn’t go into what is wrong with May and dances around it.) Faust also helps with the trying to trap the cradle as he puts the last beckon in. In the end Faust found Chronus alive and ask him about the colony only to found out the conclave didn’t order the colony. The two then head to the colony as the mystery of the illness that is affecting the Japanese intrigues Faust the two narrowly avoid capture at Leo hands. Faust finds out a way to stop the anti matter gears to stop them from blowing up.
Chipp is the series ninja wanting revenge for the death of master Chipp is basically going against everyone for the next clue. He is American all though he tries really heard to be Japanese which is why Anji made a joke about him wanting to learn how to be more Japanese from him in XX. He was a drug trafficker until his master saved him and changed his life and taught him how to be a ninja. He is quick minded and short tempered. After finding out about Justice defeat he vows to protect the weak. He later in accent core plus gets this idea for running for presidency. hearing his idea Potemkin suggest becoming a body guard for his boss Gaberial. Later own Chipp meets up with Ky and Ky explains why his master was killed. Chipps master was working for the assassins btu only as a cover. Sent in by the police he was trying to help them bring them down. His cover was blown and he had to go into hiding during this time he ran into Chipp. He was eventually killed off by the league. Chip helps Jonnny and the rest of jelly fish go find May reminding her not be afraid to face things alone. He also hears of her age fidning out she is not a kid. He is then taken out by Bedman but is save by Zato.
May is another one of Jonny jelly fish pirates. She fights using an anchor and is Japanese but not raised so she doesn’t know the language. Because she fights with a huge anchor fans thought she was a gear but the creator says no. She is Dizzy best friend and is scared of bald people like Faust. In the story mode for accent core her Japanese heritage becomes a big theme as Jonny wonders how to deal with it. May is good and animals and it shows. May can call forth dolphins and use for a short period of time. She posses some super human strength as she carries around anchor without getting tired as well as a high level of agility. May shows her agility by spinning like a ball all over the stage. In xrd May hears about Ramlethal declaration and decides to go after her (since Jonny isn’t around she is in charge of the ship.) After a battle with Chip he accompanies her to fight Valentine only to find that she is a fake and is forced to watch as the cradle is activated. May tells Valentine to stop it but she tells her that it cannot be stopped. Also once again May Japanese heritage is brought up as Valentine mentions in their conversation. May asked her what that means only to have Valentine say it is like a disease. This scars May and she runs away from the Jelly fish as she misunderstands Ramlethal and thinks she has an contagious cold. Chipp finds and make her realizes that she should fight with her friends. She is then seen helping out the world trap the cradle as she and the other jelly fish pirates get Faust close enough to land the beckon. Chipp is the first of the normal cast to realize who is the real enemy and soon brings them and reinforcements for the big fight.
Answer isChip right hand man joins the fight bring business to ninjutsu. Answer using ninja tricks to make traveling the stage easy. His role in Rev 2 story is unknown as in the last entries he was holding down the fort for Chip as he went running around so to see what he does now that he has bigger role will be interesting.
Jam is the cook who can kick your butt. The Chinese beauty is the only character in the guilty gear universe who can use chi. For this reason the government is after her. She is a bounty hunter as well but in only in times of emergencies. For instance when ever someone messes up the her restaurant. At the same time she will do whatever she can for the resturant. At one point she drugged Ky and brings him to the resturaunt. When he declines the offer she fights him in order to bring thier by force. Jam has recently been confirmed in Revelator her role is still unclear but her look and gameplay style don’t seem to have changed that much. The game she has a big impact but story mode she makes one appearance.
Bridget is a boy contrary to what you are seeing. he fights using yoyo and teddy bears. He was an actor then went on to bounty hunting and now is a pirate on Jonny crew only because Jonny got confused when he say him as his crew is suppose to be all women. In plus Bridget tries his hand at entertainment and tries to get Venom and Ino to join him but his attempts fail. He then returns home only to find that his twin brother is missing.
Jonny is a skilled swordsmen how is the leader of the outlawed Jelly Fish pirates. He seems to know dirty secretes but not all so the government ignores him most of the time. He is the woman chaser of the series which is why his crew is all women except for Bridget of course. He fights using speed like Chip. The best way to describe it is that he fights using a fast drawing sword skill. He uses coins and mist as well when he is fighting. In gold more he can kill you in one hit from his sword when he draws it and move around the stage like he is teleporting. Thinking of him as gunslinger from the wild west. He does appear in xrd although in story mode. He tracks down Faust to help May as he thinks something is wrong with her. Faust agrees to help but Jonny learns that May ran away and he has to find her. After finding her Faust comes to him and gives May medicine only to learn that they may something worse as Faust warns instructs him on the medicine and to stay away from the colony. Bedman shows up and is then held back by Chipp as Jonny got Faust and the girls away. Jonny would face Bedman again as he fought him at the cradle trap. with Leo help the two kept Bedman busy as long as they could. Jonny has been revealed as a playable character in the sequel to xrd Guilty Gear xrd Revealtor. The captain of the Jelly Fish pirates has most of his trademark moves with some improvements as he joins the fray to discover what this mother of the valentines is up to. Johnny is seen in Japan looking into the mystery of the colony. He is one of three characters who are looking into it along with Faust and Leo. Johnny gets into a fight with Leo which for Leo turns into a boss fight with an ex boss version of Johnny as his overdrive gets more damage and more strikes. The fight is interrupted by Turner.
Aba is new to the series and not much is known about her. As a matter of fact her only friend is the talking key she drags around. She is on a search to find out more about herself. That is how it started but in accent core she was trying to find a body for her freind the huge key that she carries around out of love but the love is one way as he doesn’t love her back. The key also has asplit personality. When it has the human face on it is calm when it grows horns and eyes glow red it becomes blood thrusty. He meet Slayer in what is known as the forbiddin lands and attacked him in his blood thrusty state. In present tiem he looks at Slayer as a friend. In gameplay you Aba switch between the two persona which begs the question is she helpign him or control it.
Testament is a human gear who fought on Justice sidebut orginally was human he was turned into a gear and lost his memories in the process. He was adopted by Kliff but began to suffer mentally from all the death that was surrounding him. Think magneto from x men and you basically got it. He fights using summoning a forbidden magic. He sees Dizzy the next one to lead the gears but she is too young. He left her in the care of Jonny. However he will take her back in a second if he thinks he has to.
Zappa is a man who is trying hard to fight his demons. He acts normally but then becomes possed by the spirits inside of him. He is seen as comic relief just like Axl and May. To prove it he ends up being arrested by Ky in one ending because he attacked an officer while in the cell his spirits comfort him. It is revealed by slayer that he may be a medium. He uses four spirits to fight. A sword, dog, ghost which cause misfortune to other player and a mini lightning god that is his strongest. I say this because in gold mode he is out all the time and has powerful attacks.
Meet the hulk brother removed. The man is all muscle the only time the metal on him that causes him to hunch over comes off is when he does his instant kill. He worked for a forbidden city. It is forbidden because it used technology that has been shunned by the world. He is being taught by an old friend of Slayer Gaberial. Despite his power he is the humble type and always loyal an d much like Ky tries to do the right thing when ever he can. In xrd he has become more mechanical as his four arms are now robotic. He boss Gabriel comes into his own as Bedman attacks Zepp in story mode. After Gabriel brings Bedman down Potemkin tries to iterogate him btu no luck. Gabriel even saying that “this may be the most pointless interrogation in history.”
Venom is an assign and he is trying to save his guild that Eddie was in charge of when he was normal. He fights using a pool que and balls. His loyalty to Eddie has him defending everything anything that was his which is why he tries to fights slayer. Slayer tried to close down the Assassins guild. Venom say this as an attack on Eddie legacy and wouldn’t allow it. He spends the game using the other fighter as practice for his fight against Slayer. IN xrd he doesn’t change that much in terms of appearance and gameplay. In terms of game play he is marksmen with a pool cue always aiming for the perfect shot but yet as a an archer as he can use the cuein melee attacks. HIs attacks are pool cue themed though. In xrd Venom seem to have formed a calm relationship with Millia as a opposed in the x series where he is after as shown in a cut scene where the two are calmly talking. He taken out by Bedman in story mode along with Millia and Slayer as they were trying to reach Ky with a message.
Millia Rage was once assign like Venom but now she is a bounty hunter now hunting Eddie. This often puts her at odds with Venom. She fights using her hair as a weapon. In terms of story she gets caught up with the main story for a few seconds but then gets drawn back to hunting Eddie. There is also something else When Slayer meets up with Millia he speaks to her about her hair and that a horrible fate awaits her. This could mean that in order to use her hair like she does Millia is forsaking her body. In xrd she gets a complete outfit change from her white shirt with the blue strip to matching orange top and hat with a number on it. Her isn’t her only weapon though as she is also fast. In xrd she seems to have formed a friendship with Venom as shown in the cut scenes. Venom ask Millia to investigate what the Senate is up to as the Senate put the Assassin guild to do something else. Venom does this as he believes that Zato 1 may be in the cent of it all. Milla finds the lab but Venom is guarding it thus the two fight with Milla proving that she is the winner. Millia then informs Venom that Zato is in the facility and the two go to look for him. Once they find Zato 1 they don’t believe he is the real Zato 1 and thus the fight him to see if it is real him. Once they have confirmed that it is Zato 1 Zato 1 explains what the Senate was experimenting on him for. In story mode she is taken out by Bedman to stop her, Venom and Slayer from getting a message to Ky.
Eddie is man who was merged with weapon that is slowly destroying him. Because of this he is often trying to look for a new host for it. It seems that he has become the shadow weapon slave as he doesn’t respond to anything from his past life. He uses the shadow beast zato 1 as his weapon like a living shadow. Due to his dwindling life Zato 1 is always using Eddie to find his next victim. There is no telling what will happen to Eddie if this is ever done. Edddie has been confirmed for xrd but is under the name of Zato 1. Eddie looks the same but the shadow now has a red symbol that is the same as the one on Sol glove on its chest. In xrd Zato 1 personality has changed from an angry parasite to almost a logic base being contemplating his own existence. While he is in prison his forbidden beast tries to move him along not to take another body like we say in past games but to see other people. As Zato contemplated he realized that he still had feeling for Millia and decides to go and protect her from Valentine was planning. something to note is that everyone who talks to Zato in their endings seem to be under a clouded sky as found in his instant kill. Just something to note. In Story mode Zato plays a key role first as Bedman taking out fighters one by one Zato stops him saying that he is on to his trick. But before Zato and Bedman can fight he leaves takes care of something else. Zato then goes to Zepp to inform Sol ad Ky on what the conclave is after with the cradle.
xrd Zato 1
Slayer is a vampire who is in control of the assign guild. He closes the guild much to the dismay of Venom. He seems to know a lot about the Guilty Gear world as he knows that Sol was one of the people who was trying to hide Dizzy so informed him that they are hunting her again. He posses amazing strength as his instant kill has him sending you flying to the into outer space from an uppercut. It is also clear he has a lot of power as he fight and blocks playfully. He fights hand to hand but it is not clear if he can use ki or not. He poses enough strength that his instant kill is knocking someone into outerspace. Even with that information I would say he is on the same level as Sol and Justice. Slayer has been confirmed in xrd with his usual attire. Slayer story goes along with Zato as he finds out that Zato who he believed was dead is now alive. Intrugied by this news Slayer goes out to find hi dear friend. At the guild he meets and fights Venom showing he still has great power. Slayer ensures Venom that he is not here to kill Zato but to talk with him. Upon meeting Zato Slayer sees that he is a shell with very little left. With in mind Zato wanted to prove to Slayer that it is still him and fights him showing the skill that he is known for. Slayer is glad that Zato was able to retain his experience through the resurrection and shows he has memeory as well as he resits the three rules of the guild. The two sit down and Zato explained that the Senate resurrected him for the magic inside of him. This hits cord with Slayer as he thinks he knows what the Senate is up to. Before he can stop them though Bedman appears and gets him, Millia and Venom. In Revelator Slayer is itching to have his remach with Bedman. After going few rounds with members of the guild he reveals to Zato that he has been hiding a power that he hoped he can use against Sol but Bedman will due. Showing a purple glowing eye before going out.
Kliff was the leader of the holy order. The human that fought against Justice in the crusade. He has amazing skill but is killed by Justice. When he was a boy he was saved by Sol and then had him join to the oder. It was him who told Sol he can leave with the fire seal sword.Kliff is just all old fighters in anime or games. They are known for the power they possesed in thier primes but still should not be considered weak. Kliff stage shows a dragon like beast in the back ground. That is actually an area of England where the gear was ravaging. Kliff held it back by himself. It should be noted that this is where Aba key was found.
Justice was the leader of the gears in the war. She was defeated by Sol Badguy and soon after regained her memories when she was alive and remember Sol as her former lover Freddrick. I should point out that she is in a suit right now. It is unknown where she got the suit from. Right now a scientist is making clones of Justice. Also in the story mode of accent core you experince her story during the first guilty gear game as she goes on a rampage. They have now given Justice in an install move that does the same as the others except now she has her normal movement back. To those who don’t know she is one of the slowest characters to play as. She was once a brillant human known as Aria working on the gear project. She was in love with Fredrick now known as Sol Badguy. I now believe that she was a clone of Aria in gear forum made by That Man. In overature another clone of her tried to open the cube in the backyard. This cube may be where Aria is residing but it is unclear what she is anymore as That Man has constantlty refered to her as unforgivable apocaylpse. It may be possible that she is just like That Man not exactly gear but not exact human either. Justice does come back in xrd but not the way you think. Justice body is revived by the conclave using the cradle. This body is as tall as a building with no explanation as to how she ends up being the size of a human. Chronus does merge with the body but is stopped by Dizzy overloading it. Justice body is then take by Bedman. With Revelator it seems that Justice wasn’t completely destroyed by Sol as bit of her are found in Valentines and Jack-O showing that they were some how found their way into the backyard. As to how this it is yet to be explained.
A fan at dustloop has given an explanation as to Justice size difference through out guilty gear history. It seems the giant size Justice was her true size that Sol, Ky and Kilff fought during the crusades. The human sized or missing link is her weekend state and that is the forum we are all use to. This information comes with the info that Justice is a copy of Aria so it means we have yet to see what Sol love interest actually became.

Sol during the holy war. He is the real boss in the arcade mode of accent core plus. He fights on his own power unlike himself in current times where he fights with fire seal sword. He is Sol with incomplete moves as he has to charge them up to level three in order to perform them at full power. When you use dragon install everything is at max and he can use a move similar to Geese deadl rave from Snkplaymore. The one thing that isn’t explained is why he is so strong. Incomplete moves aside he seems to be able to basically over power everyone even his future self. In story mode Sol barely beats him. His sword is just a big slab.
Robo Ky was original an ex character. He since then has become a part of the story begin used by the post war burro and their agenda. He fights using robotic weapons like missiles and lasers. He works for the p.w.a.b. It should be noted that when talking about himself in the story he talks as though their may be robo versions Kliff walking around as well.
The man who made the gears and is at the center of everything in the guilty gear world. Since he made gears the world is after him and that includes Sol Badguy. He appears mostly after Sol has finished off a big battle with some foreshadowing news or statement. He seesm to posses some sort of time magic as he appeares to Sol in the past and reverses his againg in overture because he was getting board with being an adult. Also overture is the first and only time as a player you can face him. We know some thing about his powers thanks to Overture and Vastedge. He fights long range using magic built constructs to fight for him. He posses vast magic knowledge as shown when he tuned Sol in Overture and the fact he is abnle to use magic in ways very few can understand. The man mentioning of the merciless apocalypse most likely came from I-no as she seems to come from the future as her stage reveals. In ggxrd the character known as the original is introduced as the one who discovered the backyard. He is intro warning no human should ever set foot in it. In Axl story he talks with the original telepathically receiving a message that he must relay to the that man. The interst here is that when Axl tries to explain this to I-no she ask why he doesn’t just tell that man himself giving me the idea that the two have talked before and that the original is alive. He gets the message frmo Axl but we have no idea on what it is. It seems he was in fight with the concave/senate at as eh stood in his way. In story mode he helps Sol break the shield around the cradle but is taken away by Bedman shortly after. In Revelator he has been captured by Bedman but Raven said that he would by him some time he instead asked him to sent out Jack-o. Also he says to tell him he will explain everything to Sol when he sees him
Origin
the wise Sage who discovered the backyard he is seen in the opening of Xrd warning all players that no evil should ever set foot in it. In Axl story we discover that Origin is still alive but it isn’t until Acl meets I-no that we find out that Origin and that man have talked before. It seems that they discussed how man can be saved. This is not mentioned but suggested slightly as Axl was used by the Origin to tell that man that the future can be changed

Raven is That Man right hand man. He is often seen with him. According to one of the novel he was attack full on by Sol and walked away with just a scratch. He is an older version of Axl but it is never explained why he looks the way he does or is as powerful. He is a born immortal from German. He posses the power of time shift and can move through interdimensional space. He has been living for more then 2000 years. Raven appears in Revelator a few times in the opening for game and when Sol meets the boss. The interesting part is his face look human with the exception of the horn sticking out. In Revelator Raven can take the pain he receives from the enemy attack and uses it to strengthen his moves. It is themed on him living so long that he can barely feel anything. With pain the only thing he can feel That man loyal Servant will lay his body on the line to do what he ask.
Jack-o
A new character Jack-o rounds out That Man crew. She seems silly having the ability to create and manipulate fairies through her ghost install. So far gameplay and appearance are all that is known about her but since she is being added to Guilty Gear Xrd Revealtor it stands to reason that she will have a big influence on the story. Jack-O is revealed to be a Valentine who is a match to Justice and is part of Aria at the moment she is unstable as we see when she speaks. She will go form childish silly remarks to a serious and highly intelligent tone and mannerism in a second as we see when she talk to Sol revealing who she really is.
Bedman a new entry to the guilty gear universe Bedman fights from a bad made for battle. It is best to think of his bed as a transforming mech. Once Bedman goes to sleep his bed takes over sporting lethal limbs to fight whoever wish to be Bedman enemy. So far his moves area combination between teleportation and mechanized attacks. Bedman power seems to be a form of replay. Through his deja vu attacks Bedman can us a hologram of sorts to imitate his past action. Bedman is an assassin upon which I guess he is telepathic as the creator explained that is always a asleep meaning that he must communicate with others through his mind. It seems as though he is not just the Senate assassin as he stalls Potemkin for three days while Valentine puts their plain into motion giving the player the idea that he is a lacky for them. Also I noticed an odd comedy with him. He is always sleeping yet he is one of the most talkative characters the series has ever seen. Even when you beat him he goes off on a long statement. Bedman story starts off with him killing someone in the street with no one noticing him until the guy was dead. He then moves on to Sol he sees similarities between Bedman Artifical dream and the Backyard. After Bedman long talk the two fight. When the fight is over Bedman says his jobs was to stall Sol and seeing that he did just that he lets Sol go. In story mode Bedman makes and major moves and is a serious threat. He takes on Chipp, Venom, Milia and Slayer by himself only to be stopped by Zato. Later on he takes on Gabriel but Gabriel takes him down nearly breaking his bedframe. It is hard to tell if he was overwhelmed by Gabriel or he was playing as he wanted to get caught. Bedman is in league with the women who is making the Valentines who is Magnus or Pope in the Guilty Gear Universe. The two share the goal with this absolute world but Bedman states he could have achieved this without her help. He takes both the gear maker at the trap for the cradle and then Justice body. He seems to be doing for his sister who is only mentioned by name Deliha. Some fans are comparing him to Hazama of the BLazblue series I think they are not to far off. Bedman and Hazama did the dirty work of the real villain of the story using those around playfully. He is also well informed as he knows Sol is a gear. (Something Sol does keep close to his chest.) It is unknown if we have seen his full power yet as well. Also That Man compares Bedman to himself when Raven tries to get him free Also he has captured Elphelt in his dream world that she somehow breaks out and the two end up fighting.
P.W.A.B
The post war adminastration bureau was made during the crusade but after the war ended they stayed active in the shadows of the world. In xx they debued throw Robo Ky an imitation of Ky that was suppose poses all of his power and skill. Ky defeats them with ease. In accent core plus they move on from robots to make thier own gears. Thier you meet Crow the man who made Robo Ky and now is working on Justice clones. It isn;t clear though he was involved in converting Testament into a gear. Thier goal is unknown right now so it is hard to say what they are aiming for.
Kum/ Tuner
The head of the family Tuner has the power to access Ki flow. This brings Johnny to introduce May to her in hopes she can help. The head of family title that Tuner has can only be held by a male which is why she is in the suit. So May shock face might be shared by a few people if they knew the old man is a suit for a woman. Tuner fighting style is string based similar to Slayers. She comes into GGXRDR as people notice something wrong with the Japanese colony causing Leo and Faust to investigate.
The Senate
A group of sages that advice the Pope the senate hold great influence in the world of guilty gear. they are the ones who made Ky king thinking they can manipulate him but they were wrong and thus have hired Bedman to correct their mistake. The senate want to control others and by joining Valentine they hope to do just that. The Sages can fight as Sol and Sin faced them in Vast Edge the one called Bardius. Also they posses three sacred treasures the flash tooth being one of them. In xrd their goal it to use the cradle to bring back Justice body so they can merge with it. They got body but are stopped before they can use it. Only one member survived the ordeal and Faust was quick to question him realizing that they were played by the beginning.
A country
Did you ever wonder where is America in the guilty gear universe? Well you have seen it’s just no one ever pointed it out to you. IN the guilty gear universe we are known as simply A country but don’t get the wrong idea though. A country is actually a pinnacle in the guilty gear universe as the birth place of the gear project in hopes of overwhelming the conutries. This didn’t happen and the gear project was put on hold until the crusades during that time the country was dissolved. It was being used by the assassin guild for a while but that was halted by the Zepp president Gabriel joining with a their young president who is only seventeen. The country might still be in play as it has seven gear factories as Dr. Paradigm was made in a Ohio.(The bird from Overture.)
Backyard
A dimension that was revealed in overature. The backyard is where the magic that is used in Guilty Gear comes from. In overature the backyard becomes the focus as Valtine is trying to get back in in order to get to the cube. The cube was never explained but what was told is that Sol gear code was used to lock it up. It can also be said that the backyard is where That Man makes Gears. The dimension is troublesome upon entering Sol and the group he was traveling with complaint about the pressure the encountered once they were in there. That man stated if you are not strong enough then you will be broken down by the information. Sol told the others once on the other side that they should repeat thier names and grindf thier teeth. From this one can say that if you don’t have a strong sense ot self then you will perish thier. The backyard is said to affect our world as it converts information into it. The logic is in guilty gear Sol and the other world is virtual reality and the backyard is the computer that puts the infromation in. So events in guilty gear world won’t affect the backyard but things in the backyard will affect the guilty gear world. Places like the level hell or underworld in the game act as layers to the backyard. Also creatures that are refered to as monster, demons or demi gods come from these area that are like layers.
In xrd it is revealed that the backyard was visted by someone long ago who stated that no evil should set foot here. The man stated this understanding the unforeseen power the place hold. In xrd however the problem isn’t going into the backyard but what came out.
Valentine
The main enemy in Overture Valentine seeks to open the cube using gear cells from Justice. Eventually she gets the cells from Sin who is Justice grandson. Valentine personality is actually mellow as she tries to figure who she is through out the game clamming that she is doing all this for her mother. Valentine fight using a balloon that can change shape and is believed to come from the backyard. Her appearance is that of young woman who resembles Justice when she was human. Sol notes this as well as a line she says one she is defeated. Another Valentine appears in Xrd declaring war on humanity saying that humanity future is it’s past. This Valentine also seems to be different not just in appearance but also in personality. In overture Valentine showed a calm presence only because she was trying to understanding everything.
IN xrd Valentine is appears to declare war on humanity. She appears to the player as an illusion meant to stall them while the real version of Valentine is encharge of the cradle over Babylon. Valentine is referred to as an assassin of a merciless apocalypse. Valentine fights using two bats each one is in charge of one of her swords. When she combines her swords and bats she can use her own gamma ray. Those who meet Valentine in the arcade mode if they are part of the main story find that she is a fake which makes on wonder where the real one is. So far from the console mode we have Sin being nice to Valentine when they are on Ky ship. She is the talking about her sister Elephlt asking why was did her mother make her. In story mode she is taken aboard Ky ship and is constantly bugged by sin and Elphelt as they try to get her smile. (A nice smile by the way not just the scary one we see.) They do this by using anything they can think off. From a puppy (that ends up constantly biting her) to using food which she loves but Sin took to far some times. He put hot sauce on pizza and spaghetti. She ends up helping Sol and the others only because of Sin and Elphelt kidness.
Elphelt
A mysterious girl Elphelt is a beautiful girl who focuses womanhood. Seen carrying two guns she seems nice but has o problem shooting the enemy. At the moment other than her personality and name not much is known about the pinked haired woman in white. In the latest trailer Elphelt seems to mention that Valentine and her are sisters. This is due to the fact that she says here and her sister share the same command restraint. She is seen in the start of the story mode trailer stopping Remlethal and allowing Sol to take her down. On a funny note Elphelt ends her fight by making the men I suppose sign a marriage contract. She is also the only one in the guilty gear universe to fight in the a gun let alone two of them. It is revealed that she also share her sister last name Valentine. In xrd story mode Elphelt is mostly trying to break through to her sister with the help of Sin in the last part of the it she helps Leo fend of a gear attack only to have her programing kick in. It seems Elphelt was sent to keep an eye on Sol. She becomes covered in darkness and gains to shield wings and begins to attack sol but he stops her with ease. She is then taken to the backyard. Elphelt is shown in Revelator in Bedman dream world with alternate clothes but the same mind set which results in a different opening in the game. She finds a way to break out of the dream world but away from Bedman and the two fight. We find that Elphelt is tied to Justice and is about to become a part her as Sol, Sin and Remlethal go out to get her back.
Magnus
Bedman partner she is the one controlling the Valentines. She instructs Bedman movements and we don’t learn of who she is until the very end when she is seen overlooking a huge crowd as the pope.
Leo Whitefang
Leo is Ky rival as one of the three kings. You can see him in TGS trailer and story trailer. H His role in the game is unclear as he seems to be watching things from the outside in. He carries a book around and wears a rob that is similar color to his hair. It has been confirmed that Leo will be a playable DLC character. I a recent picture he is seeing holding two tonfan like blades. What type of fighting style he has is unkown at this time. Leo plays a big role in Story mode. as Ky tries to get to the bottom of the cradle he tries to do thing from the kingdom as keep track of military activity and really other countries. He ends up holding off Bedman with Jonny for a short while. He also fights with gears with Elphelts by his side until she turns. Leo also reveals yow annoying he found Ky. In revelator Leo is asked by to investigate the Japanese Colony by President Vernon. As he looks into it he finds Faust and Chronus (much to his discontent as he was not lookin forward to explaining it in paper work.) but they got away. He then meet Johnny which the two had to put on a show as Johnny showed Leo that he may know something about the illness. The fight is a boss fight which puts Leo against an ex boss version of Johnny. THefight goes about six rounds before Turner interrupts it and ask for both of their help.
The cube
In overature Valintine is trying to breka open the cube. Something That Man was working on but now states that it has been push to the limit and is ready to break. I believe that it may contain Aris. We beleive tha the orginal Justice is Aris and was destoryed by Sol. But what if that was a clone made by That Man. In which the real Aris is inside the cube locked away in a man made dimension. Valtine was orderd to destroy it so Aria could break out. I come to this conclusion not just because Valitine is a clone but also I base this on the conversation That Man had with Sol towards the end of overature. LAST THING
You probably noticed that I mentioned overature but at the same time didn’t get to into it. The reason being is that it doesn’t make sense. Sol is usually by him self except now he has a student in terms of Sin following him around. But in Overature Ky is king of a kingdom that is never mentioned. Also most of the characters above are nowhere to be seen. The only one I can explain missing I-no as she is probably locked away somewhere. Also since the story focused on gears Testament should have appeared once but he didn’t. Also why Sol was no longer using the fire seal sword was never explained.

Xrd; As you know a new game has been introduced into the Guilty Gear franchise by way of Guilty Gear Xrd Sign. There isn’t much to write about the moment as all we have is a teaser. So far Jam, Milia, Ky, Sol and Eddie have been confirmed. Many are speculating that the rest of the old cast is returning as well. In the teaser you watch as Sol and Ky fight it out. From what I saw they have the same moves with the exception to Sol dragon install. Even though I say it in the trailer its affect, cost or time is unclear until we see more gameplay. Story wise very little was mentioned other than the fact that this they are focusing on one person. Since it was Sol who was talking about him all we know is that it is a punk. As far as looks go Sol sword has my interest. Once again Sol has changed the look of his sword. This is important as the fire seal sword increases Sol power so the fact that he changed once again may prove two things. Either he needs more thus he made it more powerful or he made it so it can handle his powers better as he has become too strong. As for the others only Ky was shown in action along side Sol. In the trailer you only see MIlia and Eddie for a moment and Jam concept is floating around so the look that we all think we know may change. I will update this page if anything changes.
Xrd update 2: Four characters have been revealed Chipp, Venom, May and Potemkin. So far the MIllia and Potemkin have been the changed the most. Millia with her outfit and Potemkin with basically everything from his uniform to his forearms now mechanical. As far as move changes it seems that Sol and Ky are the only ones force to just rely on two overdrives. That might be because Arc System Works is planning to ex versions of the characters. For long time fans you know that every characters in the xx series has an ex counter part with a completely different moveset from its original. In Accent Core Sol and Ky were only slightly touched while the others got adjusted in both normal or ex. In ex Sol had three force breaks and technical four overdrive counting the one from the force break. This is only speculation off course. It seems that the instant kills will be receiving the same camera set up that the overdrives are as shown with Sol last attack at the end of the trailer. Where Sol does a fancy version of napalm death.
Overture one thing: If this game has become part of the story line then at some point in Xrd story mode they will have to return to it and explain how exactly Ky became king. I am not expecting a whole lot but I want some explanation as to how a police officer became King.
