Persona 4 ultimax update info

As you Persona arena fans know an update was announced about Persona 4 Ultimax while many were expecting a new character to be announced we instead have tweaks for the characters announced as well as other new modes that will be announced at another time.

Battle System

Guard Cancel Quick Escape
◾Changed from Fatal Counter to Counter when taking damage during.
◾Total frames reduced, movement distance increased.

Shadow Mode
◾Maximum vitality of Shadow characters greatly increased.
◾Awakened SP Skills can now be used at 50 cost of the SP Gauge.
◾During Shadow Fury, the SP consumption of One More! Cancels and all Guard Cancels has been reduced by half.
◾When activating Shadow Fury from a standing position, the opponent can now move.
◾However, the Shadow Fury motion is completely invincible. Activation as a cancel works the same as before.

S Hold System
◾Shortened the time it takes for the gauge to become visible.
◾Lengthened the time it takes the gauge to empty from MAX.

All-Out Finish (C Version)
◾Now is a Fatal Counter, no matter the amount of mashing.

Other Systems
◾Training Mode: Added “Force Fatal Counter” to the counter settings switched with ← + START.
◾Rankings: In order to make ranking matches easier to occur, the conditions for occurrence have been laxed.
◾Navi: Fixed a bug that would under certain conditions cause game progress to freeze.

Characters

Yu Narukami
◾Crouch C: Block-stun reduced.
◾Jump D: Recovery time shortened.
◾Shiden Issen (Purple Lightning Flash): Invincibility before and after the freeze removed. Skill Boost version damage reduced, and the attack now occurs after the freeze.
◾Cross Slash: Skill Boost version damage reduced.

Yosuke Hanamura
◾Crouch C: Block-stun reduced.
◾Shunten Hishougiri (Instant Turn Flying Slash): Skill Boost version now has faster start-up, proration weakened.
◾Sukukaja: D Version total frames greatly increased. Skill Boost Version total frames reduced.

Chie Satonaka
◾Stand A: Block-stun slightly increased.
◾Stand C: Range is no longer shortened when released after a dash.
◾Crouch C: Dash-cancel added.
◾Black Spot (C Version): Super-cancel timing now the same as D version.

Yukiko Amagi
◾Agi: A version untechable time increased. When held for a certain length, now explodes twice.
◾Honoo no Mai (Flame Dance): Persona remains a shorter length of time for A version. Damage reduced. B and Skill Boost version initial proration increased.
◾Fire Boost: Total frames reduced.

Kanji Tatsumi
◾Air Backdash: Movement distance increased
◾Auto-combo 3rd Hit: Movement distance shortened
◾Stand B (Regular Version): Now Skill-cancellable
◾Crouch C: Now Skill-cancellable
◾Ass Whoopin’, Tatsumi-Style: Skill Boost version damage reduced.

Teddie
◾Auto Combo 3rd Hit: 4th strike of the move now adds a SP Gauge increase bonus. 4th strike can no longer be jump-cancelled, or P Comboed. 3rd strike’s properties made the same as the 4th.
◾Crouch D, Jump ↓D: P Combo routes increased, can now be done when D and Jump D can be done.
◾Sweep: Hurtbox adjusted.
◾Nani ga Deru Kuma SP: Unusable shortened, total frames reduced. Persona disappearance time shortened.

Naoto Shirogane
◾Stand DD: When done from Back+D only, the attack turns to face the opponent.
◾Double Fangs (Air): Untechable time on counter-hit increased.
◾Critical Shot: Skill Boost version damage reduced.

Mitsuru Kirijo
◾Stand A: Pushback on hit shortened.
◾Sweep: When feinting by holding the button, strike-invincibility reduced.
◾Bufula: During the latter half of the move, can now be cancelled into all versions of Coup Droit.

Akihiko Sanada
◾Dash: Dash speed increased
◾Stand C: Range is no longer shortened when released after a dash.
◾Crouch C: When performed from long range, now turns to face the opponent.
◾Sweep: Hurtbox at Cyclone Level 0 adjusted.
◾Sonic Punch: Now cause Fatal Counter.
◾Cyclone Uppercut: Lv5 minimum guaranteed damage increased.

Aegis
◾Escape Change: Knockback on counter-hit adjusted, opponent can now tech.

◾7th Gen Radical Cannon: Now only explodes when the button is released.
◾Tarensou Kikanhou (Multiple Autocannon) Orion: Now catches standing grounded opponents.
◾Heavenly Spear: Skill Boost version damage reduced. Attack now occurs after the freeze.

Elizabeth
◾Crouch C: Forward movement distance during the attack increased.
◾Crouch D: Time until the Persona attack can be performed reduced.
◾Maziodyne: Awakened A version has reduced recovery while mid-air. Awakened A version has longer untechable time on counter-hit.
◾Mabufudyne: A version attack start-up faster.
◾Magarudyne: D version landing recovery reduced, proration weakened. Awakened Skill Boost version proration weakened, untechable time increased.
◾Maragidyne: When C and D versions are used, the Persona returns to the position of Elizabeth.
◾Randomizer: Total frames reduced. When the counter succeeds, is now invincible until the end of the move.

Labrys
◾Axe Level: Color at the beginning of the match now green.
◾Weaver’s Art – Houshu (Gem): Persona standby time reduced, dash-cancel timing now earlier.
◾Weaver’s Art – Breaking Wheel: Now invincible from the start of the move.

Shadow Labrys
◾Terra’s Eruption (↑C): Damage reduced
◾Titanomachia: Total frames greatly reduced.

Yukari Takeba:
◾Feather☆Flip: C and D version now projectile invincible while rising upward. Skill Boost version invincible while rising upward. Landing recovery reduced.
◾Feather☆Shot: Can now move in mid-air the move ends. Bad status effect time reduced. B version bad status changed to Mute.
◾Hyper Feather☆Shot: A version arrow speed increased.

Junpei Iori
◾Auto Combo 2nd Hit: Start-up reduced, when normal guarded is now a continuous guard from Stand A.
◾Crouch C: P Combo route to Stand C added.
◾Crouch D: Attack start-up reduced, total frames reduced.
◾Jump C: Untechable time increased.
◾Jump ↓D: Total frames reduced.
◾Chou Push Bunt: Recovery reduced.
◾Shouri no Osakebi (Victory Cry): For every additional 10 runs, HP and SP recovery amount now increases.

Sho Minazuki
◾Stand A: Recovery increased
◾Stand D, Jump D: With ↓D can be done as a cancel from Hougetsuzan – Senga (Moon Splitting Slash – Flash Fang), Shouga (Flying Fang) and Kousoku Idou (High-speed Movement).
◾Jump D: Landing recovery reduced.
◾Getsumen Kudaki (Moon Surface Smash): Minimum guaranteed damage increased.

SHO MINAZUKI
◾Stand A: Recovery increased.
◾Stand C: Recovery reduced, down untechable time added.
◾Crouch C: Recovery reduced, now causes ground bound on air hit. Now jump-cancellable.
◾Survival Knife: Knife visual trail adjusted, now easier to see.
◾Kyuuma/Kyuuketsu (Magic Drain/Blood Drain): Changed from taking Fatal Counter damage to Counter damage.
◾Rengoku no Tsubasa (Wings of Purgatory): Proration weakened.
