Okay before we begin let me explain the title. Someone has posted information that Capcom shares are up for sale. For those who don’t this news means for gamers let me explain. Any company can by shares in Capcom which means for instance if it is Sony or Microsoft as the video below uses the same example some titles will become exclusive to that console. The Video by Buttone Masher doesn’t understand why this is happening while Nintendo life and others bring up the fact that since 2008 Capcom has planned on fighting off take over by giving it shares to share holders which after a recent meeting decided they didn’t want the shares. The site I got this information from saw Ono resignation from his vancover spot as a sign of the uneasiness with in Capcom. The issue with that is Ono left Vancouver not Capcom as still has his title. Yet Capcom has acknowledge the fore sale sign releasing this press statement.
“Despite of non-approval of Renewal of Takeover Defence at the 35th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders, Capcom will continue to focus on further preserving and enhancing corporate value and common interests of its shareholders. If there is any large-scale purchaser of Capcom stock, we will react to make necessary measures within the admissible limits of applicable laws and regulations. In addition, we will react to take steps to ensure disclosure of the position of the board of directors and other information and that there is sufficient time for shareholders to examine the proposed large-scale purchase and reach a decision.”
What this means is the owner of Capcom is in question the rest is still business as usual.
