We have a few Witcher things to cover so lets start with people asking for the rerelease of Witcher 1 and Witcher 2. CD Projekt RED responded by saying no here is the exact response from CD Projekt RED.
“At this particular moment in time, there are no plans to re-release previous Witcher games on the PlayStation. We’re also a bit bummed that it took us so long to release a Witcher game on the PlayStation but we’re a quality-comes-first studio and releasing The Witcher 2 on three platforms was above our technical capabilities back then. We chose Xbox because of the less complicated architecture (The Witcher 2 was our first console game). Things are different with the PlayStation 4. By the way, if you’re afraid that you won’t get what’s happening in the game without playing the first two games, you may stop worrying now–for newcomers, Wild Hunt will seem like a totally standalone game.”
As for E3 2013 being no show. That was because it had no open world. Polish and game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz explained with the following statement.
“For us the most important thing was to tell our story. everything begins with story. Geralt – our main protagonist – defined a lot of aspects of the game, because he is unchangeable, he’s defined. We’re happy, because it’s the same way that Batman is defined; you can expect how he would behave in most situations. So we started with that, and then we knew we had to tell a very cool story…but the open world was a missing element”
One has to admit it is a good a reason at least.
