Daisuke Ishiwatari the man behind the Guilty Gear series sat down with Silicoenra to talk about his latest game Guilty Gear Xrd. The conversation touched on a few points.
Daisuke mentions development and how the engine didn’t matter to him much as he was just looking for the ray to express the artwork. This brought up the how did Daisuke coped with making the spirits for this GGXRD as the other games in the series were 2d and now he has to incorporate 2d game play 3d graphics in a sleek anime style. In response to Siliconera question Daisuke says it is hard to say as some thing were easy while others were not.
In terms of the roaster Daisuke said that the number is small for the moment as he is trying to work with the small team and budget as the budget is limited. With that mentioned Daisuke stated he would like to increase the number in the future. A statment we have heard mentioned a few times by him and his team. He didn’t mention when this would be being as they are still working on the console version.
Another point that Daisuke wanted to make is that the cross platform gameplay was important to him. The feature allows PS3 owners and PS4 owners to through down. He states it as a high priority.
Since the team size was brought up Siliconera asked him about the size difference between his team red team and blue team which works on Blazblue. Daisuke said this is no difference in size . When asked about a cross over between the two games Daisuke replied that they need to find free time as both teams are busy with their current projects. While Daisuke is busy with GGXRD Toshimichi Mori and team blue are busy with BlazBlue Chronophantasma version 2.0 for the arcades.
