It has been awhile since we heard about Final Fantasy XV which means the facts maybe a little fuzzy. To make sure we are on the same track I decided to a little list run to make sure we are all on the same page. Final Fantasy XV is Final Fantasy XIII Versus but given a number. The game is supposed be made for action rpg similar to Kingdom hearts. The last trailer was showing it for PS4 but has also confirmed it for Xbox one and PS3.
The trailer has been shown as miss leading as the lighting engine used in the game will not be part of the final product. Today we are hit with more rumor/ news as the lead programmer Kentaro Yasui had left Square Enix for another project that is being lead by another final Fantays programmer. I say rumor/ news as everyone is quoting it and saying they have a reliable source to back it up. Nothing else had changed and other than the Tokyo game show Square Enix has not let any update on the progress of the game. They skipped E3 saying it was not the right venue to release any information on the game. This is leading fans to hope for news at TGS but at the same time a good amount of them don’t think we see it in 2015 as the Square Enix is projecting.
The reason why that is an issue is because fans were told that Square Enix would more transparent with its games after restructuring last year behind the company structure impeding their growth and income. In fairness they have been open about other games such Kingdom Hearts 3 and 2.5 remix as well Tomb Raider. However the same practice is not being applied to Final Fantasy XV which is leaving fans who were and are waiting for the game release with a bad taste in their mouth.
That is where we are at the moment for the other information I have posted check my blog past post as I have posted rumors on gameplay as the article on the light engine being removed. As for the article about the lead programmer leaving check out the link below but remember that Square Enix has yet to say anything about the manner. With luck we might hear something about the game that has been silent for almost a year in a positive statement.
