Hyrule Warriors is out and Japan and a version of Link is up for conversation under the name Linkle. Linkle was included in the artbook as an idea that was rejected from the game. Nintendo then noticed the fans curiosity and are no longer sure if keep the female side of Link out was a good idea. The recent attention has caused series producer Eiji Aonuma to make a statement.
“Rather unexpectedly, after I mentioned that no one had explicitly said that it was Link [in the trailer], this speculation spread online and seems to have led to the idea that the main character will be a girl.However, this reaction from the fans is something I would like to take into consideration as we proceed with development—although that doesn’t mean that we are going to change the main character to a girl.”
What this means for fans is maybe you can see a little of Link girly side in action hero glory in some other way. Stay tuned to see what Nintendo has in store for our elf friend.
