A lot of news has come out regarding Final Fantasy XV which hasn’t really seen any form of news for a whole year. First of yes directors have changed as now Tetsuya Nomura will now focus on Kingdom Hearts 3 where the second director Hajime Tabata will take the helm. Hajime directed Final Fantasy VII Crises Core and Type 0. In regard to the news of directors switching out Hajime informs fans how far along the game is saying that it is 60 percent complete and that he expects not to take to long after the demo comes out to finish.
He goes on to discuss other aspects as for the game weather system. This was brought up in reference to whether or not the weather will affect the magic the play will use. The answer is yes and how useful the magic can be used. In instance fire will be stronger on sunny day then a rainy day and useful as the flames from the spell can be used to affect it surroundings or harmful as you can hurt yours allies with it.
Combat is also referenced as being similar to Final Fantasy XII gambit system. no commands just buttons to control the character. We saw this in the demo as Notcis goes on the attack and defense depending on the button you press or hold if you want to keep doing it. Battles are suppose to be seamless.
Hajime also pointed out how he sees final Fantasy games as bench marks. He says to 4games that he always saw final fantasy games as the benchmark to what the system is capable of. If this feels familiar it should as we heard him mentions before when speaking about final fantasy games but referring to this in general. Hajime when discussing type 0 was asked about xv and said that other companies looking at the game to see how an rpg would do on these new consoles.
