Most of the time we have been hearing about Bayonetta and the kick ass action she brings to the table but we have not heard about how females feel about her. I stumbled on an article that decided to touch on it by asking a few women who work in the video game industry or play games about the umbra witch and is their view on what she means to female gamers.
For those who are wondering why this is a topic the way women are portrayed in games hasn’t always been respectable. Whether it be DOA girls with a bouncy chest or how most females are dressed. Anyway the article touches and stumbles on a divide. The game is entertaining with some women itching for the sequel. On the other hand the game is seen as sexiest Bayonetta going close nude to use her strongest powers is bit too much for some while other don’t see as offensive but just type of woman she is. To give you an idea of that just think of someone swinging their hips when they walk at all time. Anything cane be pointed to sex at ay moment. Again she does get close to naked and has moment where you can taunt your enemies with arousing dance. Her lines don’t help either as seen when she is luka and she has to pick up the kids she finds.
As a male gamer I have really no say in this manner of how she represents females. I like the first game still need to get my hands on the second. Yet I can see where they are coming from. it also doesn’t help that they are trying to spread the word about Bayonetta by asking Playboy.
