I liked the first one and now we have talks about Pacific Rim 2. The director of the film Guillermo del Toro(who I wish would bring us Hellboy 3 already) sits down and explains what he wants in the sequel showing that he knows his audience very well. He explains that the movie will take place some time after the ending of the first movie and promises both new monster and new giant robots. He is also talking about gathering those whose characters survived the movie to return.
” I think that two of our main characters like in the first one are Burn [Gorman] and Charlie [Day],” he said, referring to the actors who played Dr. Hermann Gottlieb and Dr. Newton Geiszler, respectively. “They are really, really — I mean, honestly, they are probably the guys I have the most fun writing along with Hannibal Chau [Ron Perlman’s black market dealer] so just from a purely selfish drive, I like writing them.”
But it doesn’t stop their. Toro is also talking about an animated series saying that it is in the works. At that moment that is all they are saying about as the sequel is taking center stage.
