Incase we have forgotten Final Fantasy XV since the demo was released was at 60 percent complete. Hajime the director says they are focusing on the three pillars that makes a game a final fantasy game. Now he doesn’t mention what these pillars are but it with the demo being out for a while now I think we can examine to see the direction of the game.
Gameplay Characters.
Noctis is the only playable character while the others are smart AI. For old school fans like me this might take some getting use to as we are use to use all the characters rather than just one. For instance I can have on character set ready for their limit break another heal while we have another one ready to summon for the last two prepare to use magic. Now it isn’t bad as you do work with the characters for team attacks for parries. Also certain team mates will bring certain things to light for the character opening different paths. I should point out I didn’t see any of that in the demo videos so we still need see this to get a good idea. Also with phantom swords seem to be a blast as only with four of them you can do a special attack.
Magic
Didn’t see this in the game but in past videos we have seen in the last game. What you need know is that the weather can affect the effectiveness of the spell.
Summons we do see in the demo with Ramuh as the only one. Now to be clear we have confirmed Titan, Leviathan and Ramuh (some fans think they have spotted Bahamut in the last trailer flying in the sky.) Ramuh summons as Noctis summoning the powerful wizard with low health. Once summoned Ramuh takes out anyone because of how ridiculous the damage he does. Now I think the damage is because of the demo as many have used this wizard to put down the might boss Behemoth so it is a option in case you don’t want a long fight. Also If he is that powerful then there will be no reason to use the other summons that we know you will be getting in the game.
Story
We are a little ahead in the game. The story for the demo has us camping as Cidney fixed the car that Prompto crashed at some point. In order to raise this money the gang go Behemoth hunting. After getting the horns of the beast they get enough cash to pay Cidney and go on their way. The thing is after that we get a short cinematic that the city the group is coming form has fallen as a woman is seen walking away with something off about her. Keep in mind that since this was because this was for the demo it may have stuff messing or stuff put together quickly.
