For those who have been in the dark a while Konami and Hideo Kojima one of their biggest creative minds had an issue that has gone up and down. This post is an update on what has occurred and how things stand.
It started with Konami removing Kojima name and studio from the Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain and more. Fans took this as a sign that things might not be well and Kojima might even be leaving Konami. This was also helped by the rumor of him having an argument with the big heads which resulted him leaving. This was proven false as it has been stated he wans to finish MGS5.
Konami responded by saying that the changes are from restructuring. This week Konami announced that it is turning it focus to mobile games instead of consoles. MGS5 will still come out but after that is hard to say. Konami also removed it self from New York Stock Exchange on top of that.
Restructure doesn’t explain why they took Kojima name as well as the name of this studio off of basically all Konami products. Also Konami has gone on twitter to ask some fans to remove the posters which showed that Kojima name was removed. This is all confusing but we should look forward to some clarification as Konami stated that they will explain what went down in the up coming weeks. A good thin as fans still think that this might Kojima last game. At the moment that is where this drama in gaming rest for now.
