Final Fantasy VII Remake blew us away at E3 and now we are getting some info from the game director Tetsuya Nomura. Nomura explains that their will be no new characters to the game. he had to say this as fans dissecting the trailer saw a red feather which to them indicated Geneses a character who appears in crises core as well as Derge of Cerberus. Nomura went on to explain that they will try to make the game more real also saying that they will aim for higher resolution then the teaser trailer we saw. I guess they will be aiming for the same type of fantasy meets realism as FFXV. At the moment the battle system is not mentioned at this time. I guess that is one of the things we will have to wait for Winter to find out. The following is what Gematsu put together from Nomura interview.
“Regarding the teaser trailer
Nomura: “We’re using part of that video in the game. We’re going to raise the quality even more.”
Regarding the choice of hardware
“You’ll be able to play it first on PlayStation 4, that’s for certain. We’re not thinking beyond that yet, so after that is undecided. Since we’re bringing out PlayStation 4 title after PlayStation 4 title, it’d be great if we can give the hardware and industry a boost.”
It’s not just an HD-ification, right?
“Final Fantasy VII is special, and we can’t ‘exceed’ the game by simply making the graphics nicer. That’s not a thing to be excited about.
“Precisely because it’s a full remake, I want to challenge what’s fun and what’s possible now.”
Will the scenario change or new characters appear?
“There won’t be new characters. As for the visual taste, we’re doing them to match today’s visuals and appear closer to reality.”
Regarding the game system
“I can’t share details, but we’re changing it to a more realistic system.”
