With Tsukihme remake in the works I began to think of what might change and what might stay the same but then I thought about those who might know anything about the visual doujin and might get lost. With those people in mind I will lend my knowledge to give you and idea of what these character used to be as I have no idea what Type Moon is planning on changing about them other than appearance.
Shiki
Is a name you will often as it is more than just the main character name but his rival in the story. Shiki is part of the Nanaya clan but was adopted by the Tohono clan after they killed the Nanaya. This don’t real kick off for Shiki until he mets Arcueid activating his Nanaya blood. He kills violent but Arcueid comes back letting him know that it wasn’t a dream and that he ows her one. This enlightens two abilities about Shiki one mystic eyes death perception allows him to see lines and weak points in all things that if he hits them that is it and your limb or you will be killed. This works on all except for those who have no perception of death like manifestations like the planet types. Also his powers seem to be regulated by his personality. When his Nanaya blood kicks in he gains not only a different persona but also he is stronger and faster than he was before. A third personality is mentioned but its power was never pushed to its limit so it is hard to know if their is a big difference between the other two. When Nanaya takes over their is calm but yet cold demnior like you are dealing with a killer. IT should be noted that their is also more than one Shiki Tohono.
Arcueid
Shiki first victim in the story Arcueid is Shiki guide through this journey of vampries and hunters. A true Ancestor she hunts vampires known as the dead apostles as they are hunting her it only makes sense. She is a vampire who doesn’t like blood since it was used to trick by Roa someone she trusted very much putting her under a curse. Arcueid is the air the Brunestud name which allows her great power as we see with her alternate character arc type earth. This type might be seen more but thanks to her sister Altrouge Brunestud. Arc Type Earth is a powerful version that moves with grace but unleashes incredible power.
Ciel
a Fighter for the church she has knowledge as well as power. She fights using a powerfull scripture (that jackhammer you may see her using in melty blood ) and power she gained from her encounter with Roa and the stain he has left on her which also allows her to stay as young as she appears. Ceil has a hatred for Arcueid as she is what she hunts and tries to tell Shiki that he knows nothing about her and he should keep his distance. Ciel is like Arcueid and Shiki as their are two forms of her with on as her fighting in her rob as a sister for the church to fight vampires and the second is her powered version which is her using the scripture and powers she received form Roa at full.
Rao/ Shiki Tohono
Rao has the ability to reincarnate himself through out history into different forms so that he can never be killed. He usses lightning magic and a phantasm that enables him to emplify his power through mathematics. In the story time line he takes over the original Shiki Tohono body. once he does so he shows a calm calculating personality. Rao is a dead apostle and has held his own aginst Acruied sister.
Ahikia Tohon
The air to the Tohono name she is a sister torn between the two Shiki boys. Ahikau fights using her hair to combust of ignite often turning red when she does so in the story but in the fighting games this results into two forms with one touching on the power with red hair showing at maximum attacks only and the other red hauir using all the power.
Kohaku
Kohaku and her sister Hisui are mades in the Tohono house hold and they keep the secretes of those along with her sister. Kohaku treats Ahika for the strain of being a true crimson puts on her body. Kohaku is mischievous as she does help Ahika but at other times acts as her problem which is proven when she makes a robotic version of her sister to attack the others. Hisui is the opposite and shows very little emotion a sharp contrast from her sister.
That is it for now. Again this is just he start to help those who have no idea about Tsukhime be somewhat informed. Some of this may change with the remake so lets see what happens.
