The King OF Fighters XIV After PSX

We have had two days of The King Of Fighters XIV and it has given us a lot to take in. So we will start piece by piece. So that I don’t miss anything.

The battle system takes in the good from XIII ex moves and neo max now being called climax moves and looses hd mode and drive cancel. This brings the game back to its roots before XII and XIII. The game play is looking good as it has the speed we would expect a fighting game to have  if not slightly faster to me. The trailer I think shows how the story mode is going to go as we see a small exchange between Iori and Kyo.

We have 5o characters in the game. Not to sure if it going to be on release or 50 total as it counting DLC. We have 16 teams of 3 in a new chapter. The interesting part of this was that many people see the 5o characters as something that a tempting offer to buy the game.

The game is 70 % complete with the launch date in 2016 ( no month announced so they can still work out the kinks for those who think they are no where near ready in the graphics department.)  The gameplay is a throw back as well as the character models as everyone has been toned down in terms of how buff they were in XIII.

Kyo is back to his punch game with the return of 182 shiki and a new climax move that has him on contact hitting with punching combination that we have seen in divine fortress and final showdown except his body isn’t covered with flames but the enemies is.

Iori has his old purple flames and is mix of normal’s with claw animation while regaining his specials with flame. Once again Iori look has changed as he now sports a red leather coat. For those who don’t know change in wardrobe was rare in Iori case.

Leona has a yellow bra but much everything is the same which can be said for Andy as well as both keep almost all of their moves from XIII.

Chang is back with a reanimated move I believe in his climax ending with him looking up as his opponent is sent flying. The big man is sporting a new prison outfit as well as a glove over the hand he uses for the ball and chain.

Kula is showing no major change except for her climax move which has her trapping the enemy in ice if they contact with her ice move.

You can see a few of the climax moves I have mentioned in the article link below but from what I see the game is looking great but it is still not complete so some things may change in final build. Remember check the article page to see Chang, Kyo and Kula Climax move.
