Final Fantasy VII Remake has the game community locked in as they watch to see how the game they grew up with will be change and restored for the new generation. Seeing this reaction a question was once asked. If we had a choice between Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy X which one would we have remade. I ask this question now looking back at 2015 and seeing our reaction to FFVII Remake. Also they seem to be making fast progress so it might be a real question to ask if we had the choice what game in the series should go next? For My self I am torn between FFVIII and FFIX.
Final Fantasy VIII story and character had my interest the entire time as we watched them grow. The gameplay wasn’t bad either as in Squall I can see someone who can stand in the ring with Cloud limit break per limit break magic per magic. The one down side would be how they got to their limit breaks as you can only use them when your health was low or through spells putting you in a certain state. Seeing it remade would be something exciting for me.
Final Fantasy IX characters didn’t excite me as much but it still was something I feel for in terms of RPG. Between trance and the character interaction I was sold. The reason I feel this should be remade is because even though Square Enix tried to fix the last boss issue it is still an issue. For those who might know Final Fantasy IX last boss comes out of no where and they did tried to explain it to me still comes up short. For story sake I think this should be remade.
Final Fantasy X was the PlayStation 2 exclusive that suppose to help the series take off but even though I played I never liked it compared to its predecessors. The grid system for learning magic was nice and the limit breaks were cool except for Tidus blitz ace. Compared to the others it didn’t stick to me as well.
As we talk about FFVII Remake some fans are asking what if some changes are made to the story. While some talk about Aerith others talk about Zack and his death. Taking that in and the fact that they don’t want to change things to much got me thinking about a few things as well. I want focus on him because just the character reference from Advent Children. In Advent Children both Aerith and Zack appear to Cloud as inspiration or to give him moral strength. I think Zack should do that for Cloud Omnislash. Instead of him just facing down people at he coliseum Zack should be the last fight to earn the famous limit break that we know all to well.
Those are my thoughts are the choice in remaking the game and the one currently in the works. What are your thoughts though. Would you like to be a See D in Final Fantasy VIII? Go on an epic adventure with a princess in Final Fantasy IX or face off against Sin in another world in Final Fantasy X.
