According to Ono Street Fighter V was in development since Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition. To be precise since the 2012 version of the game did planning for the next installment begin.
“It was shortly after we finished development of Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition ver. 2012 that planning for Street Fighter 5 began. you look back at my interview archives from back then, you’ll note that I remarked quite a few times that I wanted that to be our last update to the SF4 series Clearly, I had Street Fighter 5 planning on the mind.”
Now in terms of story mode Capcom has been quite about it except for the tutorial that hit the internet awhile back. Ono will be offering a prologue so they can ease gamers into Street Fighter V story. The article also mentions it doesn’t know if Ono is referring to a new video for a prologue or the intro that hit the internet.
As always thank you for reading.
