Their has been one DLC character we have been talking about a lot for Street Fighter V and that is Balrog. Bison boxer has been talked about for sometime as we have been expecting him only to see him get pushed back while others character came forward. Well I got good news for those who are fans of the illegal boxer. Stephen Kleckner over at VentureBeat gives us his impression of Balrog and how he is different from SF4. I am posting from the article so I don’t mess up anything.
“Balrog’s new Jab in Street Fighter 5 is slower, but it can still 2-in-1 into some special moves,” the impressions piece reads. “It’s definitely not the monster it was in Street Fighter 4. I instantly told Rosas that I liked that change, and he nodded.”
What’s even more interesting, though not uncommon in Street Fighter 5, is the fact that Balrog seems to have lost one of his trademark moves. Buffalo Headbutt appears to have vanished from Balrog’s move list (though we’ll need confirmation on that), and in its stead comes his V-Skill.
According to Venture Beat, Balrog’s V-Skill sees him executing a fast spin that looks like the start of his Turn-Around-Punch. The implication is that this move avoids projectiles, though that wasn’t confirmed during the session, and this maneuver comes with two follow ups: a straight punch, activated by hitting a punch button, and an uppercut that is thrown when a kick is pressed.
Balrog’s V-Trigger alters his state and has a time limit, much like M. Bison or Chun-Li. Added effects were seen on special moves, but what kind of buffs and/or changes are made exactly during this state is still unknown. ”
As always thank you for reading.
