The Fighting came community has many titles on its wish list and non no bigger than Capcom VS SNK 3. With both companies releasing new titles fans were sure that the game they have been waiting for would be a sure thing. However with Street Fighter V troubling reception and The King Of Fighters XIV vastly needed to succeed fans fear this will never come. Something that is needed to be put in check.
Fist CVS was not made when the companies were doing well but the opposite. The Arcade scene wasn’t doing that great as the console games were growing. So both Capcom and SNK had to figure out a way to bring back profits and CVS was it. And we should also state that the if fans demand it enough and show interest it may happen.
But to see how close or far we are we should look at the game that represent the fighting stance of the companies right now. Lets start with Capcom and Street Fighter V a game that was received well and had many praising it for the game play and style except for of line players. The game came out with plans of a story mode to serve as Arcade but that was later leaving people who were no much for online play with very little. Along with Rage quiters the game was hit with a mix of gamers who loved and those who did not. This leave Ono and the rest of the team trying to find a way to please them.
SNK development of KOF XIV was shunned as it was under polished even to the standards of its fans. As time went on thought it won them over and now fans are eating it up. This is good until you look back. In a recent interview Oda high lighted how little they have after making KOF XIII. Fans were told that the game drained SNK but how badly was high lighted by Oda himself. With Oda and his team wishing to bring SNK back to the good old days and resurrect the old titles they are really hoping for a big win out of KOF.
Both have been asked about CVS 3 with Ono saying they are busy and Oda just trying to make sure KOF XIV works. In short it can happen as both camps fans are asking for it. Yet both are far from saying if they can do it. Since we are talking about fighting games let us that analogy. Ono is in a fight to make sure his strikes are landing as he gets through the fight. Oda is in his corner waiting to hear the judges will say that he will go on. Both games can still make this good It may just take a while to see how.
As always thank you for reading.
