During Nomura interview at Magic 2017 he was about an HD special for Final Fantasy VII in light of Remake. The special would have HD special of Crisis Core, Before Core and Dirge Of Cerberus. Nomura said no to that not because it would hard to make but because it would go against what they are planning for the Remake. You see the HD special would be a composite of the three to be combined with the original. That may be a little different as Nomura explains.
“Would it take sense to you to create an HD Remaster of Compilation of Final Fantasy VII ( Before Crisis, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus) on a unique platform like you did with Kingdom Hearts ? Beyond the possibility of making it, would you like to do this ?
Tetsuya Nomura : Concerning Final Fantasy VII Remake, which is a title loaded with a lot of mystery for now, it will be different from the original Final Fantasy VII. If we make a compilation, these games will hardly have an overall coherence. It will be difficult because there is no more continuity between the Compilation and the Remake for the moment.”
That was posted with original interview but seeing Max of Yo Videogames mention that the game may go into the PS5 got me thinking is this how the JRPG games are going to be. Basically Max stated that there is word that the game being broken up into three games such as FFXIII might go into the next games life cycle. Granted we only just started the PS4 cycle but we don’t know how long development may take.
Now I will admit Persona 5 is a JRPG and it is all together but it isn’t to the same length as FF games. FFXV came out as one game but the DLC that are planned as well the rumor Versus world covered a huge time skip that occurs in the game as well as what was left out (That is if the rumor is true of course). With that in mind I would like to say it is more incomplete as DLC is being used to finish it off not add on. Given that is the case for Square Enix will the way to make the game we like in sections for Final Fantasy fans or do you think this is one time deal? Let me know.
As always thank you for reading.
