Final Fantasy was in trouble as many asked if their was money in making JRPG anymore with the rise of games such as Mass Effect and The Witcher. A question that was answered by both Final Fantasy XV and Persona 5 as yes. But the question was bigger for FF as it would ask should Square Enix continue with the series. Something Hajime see as a yes as a bright future.
“In the end, Final Fantasy XV was completed, and it’s finally in everybody’s hands. Within a month of release, we sold six million copies. As I said at the beginning, if we failed this time, there wouldn’t be a next time, which means that probably this isn’t our final Final Fantasy. The series will probably live on.”
The article notes that many think with each game the series will end. A statement that Hajime was to dismiss as series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi told him he needs to make the game a challenger again. To which he has done as no matter how you view the game it has received positive response and has many talking about the series once more. Thus showing it is very much a living franchise to much to offer. Something Hajime once again shows as him and the team are still working on stuff for XV.
As always thank you for reading.
