Dragon Ball Super is having a filler moment as Goku gathers his team for the tournament of power as we all know. These episodes while giving these characters their moment also shows they haven’t been sitting down doing nothing. Each has been pushing themselves so they can fight and win the tournament and as cool as it is it has lead to some people being confused.
Let me explain. The episodes of course show the character holding their own against none other than Goku himself. The problem is that in order to make sure it is up date or to keep attention they wind up being equal to Super Saiyan Blue. While this may work for characters like Majin Buu or Gohan. It doesn’t really work for characters like Krillian. Remember that Super Saiyan Blue is Super Saiyan God combined with Super Saiyan and thus enables Goku and Vegeta to fight Divine entities such as Beerus or Zamasu.
Now fans are arguing that he is holding back as that is the only way to explain it. But SSB still uses great power even at its weakest otherwise it would just be super saiyan. Because of this strength issue some fans a left annoyed or just lost. Some just say it is due to fillers as the studio tries to buy time. I see it as making sure that you are interested in all fights.
For Dragon Ball or most Shonen titles I tend to focus on the main fights to see how they go down. To make sure you ink all fights matter I think the studio is trying to show you that all the fighters have something to offer in their fights not just top ones, Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and Majin Buu.
