Many of you noticed the post regarding Shadow Hearts and that Matsuzo Machida hasn’t heard anything in regards to resale. Now as much as I want a new installment or one that brings us Yuri in a new adventure we have to take one thing into account.
We are talking about a cult hit as Shadow Hearts is liked by fans but not much. For instance When Sony talked about bring back JRPG they mentioned Wild Arms, Grandia and Arc the Lad. Bring back Shadow Hearts digital and giving it some nice commercial time would show the series has something to offer fans now. Fans of the game know it has something as the odd mess mash of horror, comedy and fantasy nails those who play it as they find something to like about the series.
But we must also take into account that if a company picks this up they my want to expand the fan base and must be sure they can with this title. Reselling the past games would give them an idea or at least some safety in the fact they can. That is why we shouldn’t just look at the reselling as getting to play them again. We should look at Shadow Hearts coming on the market digitally as a chance to prove that a company should invest in it to bring to light. Let us not forget it takes a lot to make a video game much less a JRPG. Not taking in Final Fantasy XV. Persona 5 was still something for Atlus.
As I posted before the last we heard one fan was talking to the last group who brought the game to the us which was Xseed Games. They are a part of Marvelous but they only published which means they took care of bring it over to US. As for who has the rights it is up in the air. One fan today has asked Matsuzo to by the rights but we need not only him to buy I but also a company to invest in it. With there in vest maybe the Shadow Hearts 3 he wanted can be made. I hope those who were confused by last post on this classic RPG is satisfied with this. You can see the exchange below it is in Japanese but a translator did show they are speaking of Shadow Hearts.

Yes. Remember that we are talking a cult hit. A hit that in order to be brought back companies need to know there is interest. Bringing back the game so people can play will show that interest. Think about it. the only other way is through a poll which you still need to show a lot people of the old fans and that you can expand on them. The game coming out and getting commercial backing on stream or as YouTube and other mediums would give it a chance to get a new installment.

I think so. People are still playing the game today on PS2 or emulators. We see on Twitter people discussing it and that on YouTube many people are watching it or playing it. So with the right media pitch the game can come back just as strong based on my opinion. Don’t forget when Machida spoke up about the game we got a big reaction.

The fan didn’t get an answer. From what I saw thy ignored it as I don’t see any response on posting on xseed twitter wall.

Try to have faith. Xseed published it aka got to US. The developer is long gong. In my opinion we might be able to toss this at Sony. I don’t know how but it is the best bet.

I said best bet. It is either them or Nintendo. We have very little choice in this my friend. We know Sony keeps talking about bring back the JRPG land scape. Lets hold them to it. We jut need to figure out how.

I will be honest I don’t know. I asked Sony if there is a way we can voice which JRPG game from the old PS days we can ask for. At the moment I am waiting for a response.

Someone has to. They saw JRPG are coming back might as well ask if we can voice opinion on which ones. I will let you know how it turns out.

Yeah I been playing shadow hearts ever since I was 11 that’s when I first played it and I love it ever since
I played the first one I thnk a few months after getting PS2. I just thought the back box was cool enough so why not try it. I am happy I did.

No I started with 1. I have played all 3. I owned 2 and rented FTNW. I favor covenant.

That is because from what I am getting he wanted the series to focus on Yuri. The dad and uncle would help bring him back. I think his ultimate fusions would have bee a good answer to that. Plus with Ben we have been seeing him since the first one. As in fighting games you always wonder what characters can do. We want to see it now.
