Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida sat down with Daryl of Final Fantasy Union. Of the many question he had asked him Daryl wanted him to explain about if he was asked about making an off line Final Fantasy.
For those who have not heard Naoki Yoshida is one of the people at Square Enix who fans which to work on Final Fantasy XVI when they get to it. I say when because lets be honest they will eventually. Anyway Naoki says he has no plains on working on an off line FF game since he is focused on XIV since it is doing well with Storm Blood update.
But if he did do one it would have to be like heavens ward aka high fantasy. Basically games such as Final Fantasy 9 and other in the series where it leans more fantasy than sci fi. You can see Final Fantasy Union video below.
