The King Of Fighters all started with Fatal Fury. To be precise Tung students. Tung has trained many people but what we see is that they have become big things so I figured we should talk about them. Starting with there master and work from there. Remember that his newer students just started so there isn’t that much. Here we go.
Tung is the master to Geese, Terry, Jeff and Grand Master to Rock, Meitikun and Shue. Being a master of a kung fu system he teaches many styles and thus why his students don’t follow the usual game master student format. For those who don’t know what I am talking about you see it with Shingo, Rock and many others when they take there master moves and usual have there own twist on them. Fatal Fury story begins with two of students fighting and Geese coming out on top. Tung dies in Fatal Fury time line in the first game and s brought back in the third not to mentioned until KOF XI when he was a secret character. There he went into his inspired character move set as he is based on Roshi from Dragon Ball and in XI he showed by doing his on Kamahamaha. He is no in XIV new story line knowing the end is near.
The king of South Town. Geese rules the city with an iron fist and is one of the most recognizable characters in SNK universe. Many know him as the father of Rock. The man who killed his fellow student Jeff leaving Andy and Terry orphaned.
He was killed in Fatal Fury at the end of the third game but came back as a nightmare thus Nightmare Geese is born as his legacy has left such a scare on the people in South Town that he haunts them.
With powerful zoning game backed with counters and grabs he is a dangerous opponent as his Raging Storm will leave no one standing. There are two interesting things about Geese. 1 his raging storm has been called rising storm in the past. Depending on the game In XI he actually had both. They finally decided to keep with Raging Storm. He also has the deadly rave which is something he got from Krauser his half brother. It is interesting as Krauser said he was never to learn there family fighting style. Yet he has it
Terry is the hero of Fatal Fury being the one who defeated Krauser and Geese. He would later be an adopted father to Rock. In KOF story line he plays a back set most of the time since defeating Geese which is the only FF story the game acknowledges. The game also makes it appear as thought there are feeling between him and Blue Mary but it never goes anywhere.
Another mix of zoner and pressure Terry can hold of his own. Most famous moves are Burnt Knuckle and power geyser. Thus we see him play off these moves the same way other fighting game characters in other series such as Ryu Hadoken and Ken Shoryuken have multiple versions depending on the character one will favor one move more.
A few things of interest here. IN most stories when it comes to Terry his finishing blow in stories such as Fatal Fury anime and KOF Destiny is the burnt knuckle. Also many try to give him Tung spinning move which he never had. It is possible that he knows it but he doesn’t use.
Rock Howard is one of SNK most demanded characters appearing in many games from Capcom Vs SNK to KOF Maximum impact. Fist showing up in Mark Of the wolves Rock has Geese blood flowing throw his veins and Terry as his teacher he is the perfect main character in that sense for the Fatal Fury series. His story was put on hold but with him returning in KOF XIV it is bound to pick up again.
Rock is the most traditional video game student as he takes in Terry rush down and offense with Geese projectiles. From Garou he has changed very little only gaining a new move in Maximum impact 2 with neo raging storm.
Interestingly enough Rock has been demanded to join KOF by fans for years with the demand only growing after Terry started to dress up like he did in Mark Of the wolves leading people to believe it was about the same time. Reason as to why they didn’t let him join ranges from him looking like K to many others.
The new main character for KOF XIV. Shun wields the power that allows him to summon two fist. Something that he is learning to control under the guise of Tung. With clothes that make many say a persona character he faces his destiny.
Shun uses a fighting style called scared fist where he summons two fist to aid him in battle both offensively and defensively. He shared this trait with Verse the boss of XIV
The master of the sleeping fist Meitenkun sleeps a lot and holds great power. He often resembles Tung in moves making him another traditional student. Just like Shu this young man story has yet to be told as he was jut introduced.
That is there stories for now. This may change granted.
As always thank you for reading.
