Crunchyroll.com posted an article talking about Naruto as a father figure in Naruto. For those who have not see the animated series Naruto transition to father hood is jarring at times as we watch him handle raising mini me and at times seems to have no way of handle him or strait out ignore him.
The article says that we are having trouble seeing are past hero in a new role and that it is okay for him to have character flaws that at times seem annoying or just plain odd. Basically both the audience and character are getting used to these rolls and while this hits on some things it seems to miss others.
Yes it is okay to have character flaws but the interactions between father son are questionable. In the manga when Naruto is alone with Sarada he has no problem being the a sort of father figure as they get to meet up with Sasuke. Heck we even see the old Naruto for a bit with it. We also see him playing with Boruto with hide and seek in the manga showing he spends time with him. Yet when a missions doesn’t go well as Boruto is talking to his father with pride of what he has done he ask Konohamaru what is he teaching him. Something that is just weird as a he is acting like you and b It is just weird for the father to ask the teacher what he is teaching him when he is basically showing off his personality. We also have him in the anime talking about his eye and Naruto not believing him. Granted it isn’t like Boruto has lied to Naruto it is just he is not believing him. Something that again comes off as strange.
With the videogames reflecting the animated movie and showing Naruto being somewhat more receptive to Boruto antics being the original no.1 knuckle headed ninja. I purpose that everyone is struggling with Naruto as a father figure not just fans. This why yes this article names some things right as a problem with getting used to the character transition I also see as miss as character transition doesn’t explain it all away. But what about you guys? Check out the article and let me know your thoughts on the article.
