Boruto last episode had everyone getting back to normal after retrieving the 7th hokage. This gives Boruto and Sarada time to talk where he tells he has no plans to be the next hokage but instead wants to follow Sasuke footsteps and protect her.
Sarada notes the change in Naruto eyes as well as emotional growth. The change from the manga is that while Sarada doesn’t know what is going with Bouto but Mistuki does. Remember even if you read the manga you have no idea what is next exactly.
