Dragon Bal Super manga is now up to the point where Goku is facing off with Jiren but unlike in the anime Ultra Instinct can only help so far. So in order to take him down Goku teams up with Vegeta. But unlike in the anime we discover that this was Whis plan from the beginning as the 2 on 1 he was having the saiyans do. Something Beerus catches up on.
“Whis… That training with them was all to make them work on combo moves?”
To which Whis responds (with his signature laugh): “Ho Ho Ho… And they were none the wiser.”
These small things is why fans need to keep up with manga as well as the anime as the manga seems to make connections that the anime seems to leave behind.
