There is a new theory on Devil May Cry 5 newest character V that has him linked to Vergil in a different way. Basically Devil Never Cries high lights the fact that V has contract with Vergil that gives him some of the son of sparda power for him helping Dante and the others making sure they see things through.
This theory is based on the sealing method that was brought in dmc 3 where Sparda used the seven deadly sins to defend the tower . He did so by force and taking there names and thus making them do what he wants. With the play on his name the thought of V using some of Vergil power in exchange for his aid does make some sense. Even more when you remember that Vergil was in no state to do some real fighting himself.
