Soul Calibur 6 January Patch Notes

Soul Calibur 6 is getting another patch. This patch is for balance and glitches something you can take  a look at below. We have the notes but don’t forget that something may change when they actually put the patch. When that happens I will let you know but until then you can go by these notes.

General Changes

• Adjustments to the matchmaking. Developers have heard the complaints about 400 RP players facing off against 20,000 RP players.
• It is believed that it is too easy to perform ring outs on certain stages. Ring outs in general are being reviewed.

Character Balance

Azwel: Changes intended to encourage usages of all of Azwel’s modes. Nerfs for the axe incoming?

Groh: Buff to some regular moves.

Tira: Gloomy and Jolly stances will be “easier to fight with.” There might be a reason to use the Jolly stance over Gloomy. Goal is for Tira players to constantly switch.

2B: Ring out capabilities nerfed?

Siegfried: Nothing mentioned for version 1.1.1.

Ivy: Changes to Critical Edge and meter are intended to encourage offensive play more so than defensive play.

Mitsurugi: Nothing mentioned for version 1.1.1.

Seong Mina: More options in close-range combat. Intended to be a long-range character though.

Taki: Focus is chip damage on block. Improvement to on block frame advantage for attacks? Also, might be less suicidal near ring ledges.

Maxi: More moves will be relevant.

Voldo: Too many advantageous frames with the Mantis Crawl (head forward). Changes will attempt to make both crawl stances viable. Changes to encourage more back-turned state for close combat.

Sophitia: Review of inappropriate whiffing

Kilik: Changes will encourage a wider range of moves.

Xianghua: Ring out potential seen as being too strong.

Yoshimitsu: Last patches buffs may have been too strong. Stances may receive buffs still.

Nightmare: Reduction of rewards while still maintaining high risk, high reward gameplay. Attempt to fix moves from whiffing during combos.

Astaroth: Easier to land throws. Improvements to close-range options and soul charge moves. Fix for whiffing moves at close range.

Cervantes: Improvement to mid range? Fix for whiffing moves at close range.

Raphael: Too many favorable match ups. Incoming nerfs.

Talim: Developers believe it’s too difficult for Talim to get in on opponents with her close-ranged attacks.

Zasalamel: Certain combos drop unintentionally. Changes for Abyss.

Geralt: Broader usage of moves will be more encouraged.
