Street Fighter V development should stop in 2020 which is next year. With that in mind fans are already wondering what the next game will be like as this one winds down. Well the thought according to event hubs is a new street fighter alpha. An argument that can be made for why sf6 might be more themed towards that rather than SFVI like we got in SFV.
The argument is cut in 2 ways. 1 is a soft spot for the series having sold well and as the article states Capcom next move after SFII instead of going straight to 3. While the first part is a goo argument the 2nd isn’t. Capcom went straight to V after IV so there idea of something in the middle is out.
But that doesn’t mean alpha is out of the question. To me honestly I see them looking at alpha for gameplay rather than a straight sequel. Alpha had a gameplay that gave player many choices. From a ism gauge to alpha counter to dramatic battles. SFV was criticized for not having enough choice. True the V system did give different ways to attack. But between V reversal, trigger and style mostly only one with the exceptions of trigger the character felt to some limited. This feeling come from SFVI as it was the same answer they had then when the game. new mechanics but limited. I mean let not remember that with each season fans are hoping for an expansion of the V system.
With gameplay out of the way I see Capcom doing what they are doing for Devil May Cry 5 and bring it all together. If you don’t know SF time line is as wacky as DMC with Alpha coming before SFII with 4 and 5 coming before 3. In terms of story this next installment should bring it all together. But with that said I hope we get the arcade mode that is normal along with a story mode of sorts to complete it all.
Lets not forget the new characters they can bring in and keep. When it comes SFV characters were another let down yes. But as the game went on we saw profiles for edits and characters that might make things interesting. from characters such as Sean and Lara family and Rashid Butler. To ones from canceled game or other series such as reaper from Capcom all stars and Shadow Marvel Vs Street Fighter . Some of it is crazy but some it is meant to be crazy as it s a game it is meant to be off the walls.
But those are my thoughts. You guys let me know what you think on which direction Capcom will take the street fighter series.
