My Hero Academia Inspired By Hellboy

It seems My hero Academia take inspiration from many comics in the west. Not only super heroes but super natural ones like Hellboy. The demon turned humanity best chance was inspiration for All Might. This is how it goes.

” There’s that American comic book series, Hellboy, right? I can see a little of that in your work.”animator Yoshihiko Umakoshi

“Yeah, the way Mike Mignola draws hands was a big influence on me. Vol. 1 All Might’s art style was particularly bad about it. The influence was blatant; His fingers were square. Square, flat, angular. really goes to show you how good he is. How much pop can you give an illustration with only a few lines? I think he’s on that point of being so perfect he can do things like that.

The way he applies solid black is amazing. You get the same sense of realness if you look at his work from a distance too. The way it feels 3-dimensional is incredible. When I try to imitate his style in an attempt to figure out the trick behind it, I just can’t manage to pull it off. My shadows are copied from his, too. ” Kohei Horikoshi

My Hero takes many ideas from western comics being a super hero manga. With that in mind it is still an interesting fact isn’t.
