As we talk about PlayStation 5 and the next Xbox console many things come up from graphics to online as watch Sony hire more people and secure more patients. But one thing keeps coming up wit backwards compatibility as many think that will be a thing in the next console cycle.
Right now only for Xbox One backwards compatibility was something major for Sony as it was a major sell for fans for both PS2 and 3. When 4 came it wasn’t part of the system. At this time though we did see PlayStation 2 classics be posted on PSN. (But and this is where backwards compatibility shines) not all games form that era are online. So if you have a hard copy you would be good as well you only chance to play the game. Dead Pool the game is one example as well as my beloved Shadow Hearts series.
But why does everyone think that is a thing? Well the idea is that since it worked for Xbox so well and it was Sony bread and butter that they will go back to it. This on top of a patient that suggest not only it will be backwards compatibility but it will be so that it will make all games graphics as though they were remasters all the back to the PS1. Now this is only based on the patient as no one has gotten any specs of the PS5. At the same time makes much sense to many that in there minds it is a thing or at least the most possible thing to happen. Maybe it is a hope. Maybe it is already in the works. We will have to wait for Sony to see what this PS5 will be like and what it will offer.
