In the past few weeks we have seen this accusation of Vic spin in many different ways ending with Funimation separating from him. But during it all we have only heard that Monica Rail the voice of Bulma say she had her own incident with Vic. This was before Funimation released there statement. Today Monic has a statement out and it is something to read.
“ have always stood up for this community. I have loved the anime fandom from the moment I went to my first convention. To be threatened like this by the community I love, really hurts my heart… It has been so incredibly painful, I can’t even express… I have never said anything hurtful toward Vic or any of his fans. i don’t want to ruin his life, he was/is my friend… I’m tired of the fighting, I’m tired of the threats, all of it. From here on, I will only be posting positivity and light… It’s over. This has been incredibly difficult for everyone involved. Please be kind to one another.”
Now many have asked why they should believe her or why this didn’t come out sooner? But given what she had said this basically can be something that spun out of control. Yes Vic was at the center and has suffered but so has Monica in a sense as people have gone from making threats from there sexual harassment to violence. All have as Sean the voice of Goku felt as though it is such that he has gone to the feds. But that is not all as today there is word that Vic is going to sue the companies who let him go. I said word as other than YouTube I have not heard anything else about that part.
I admit I have been meaning to give my reaction to this but every time I am thinking have my thoughts together and ready to say something about it something else happens. As it stands I hope we can all get through this. Vic says he is getting consoling and I doubt his carrier is over so as we have Funimation and Rooster Teeth separate from him. There are still other studios and projects which he can still get work from. And with they way he has handled this it can be a moment time as a blemish.
But before we slam Monica remember that what she talked about bringing to light so we know doesn’t mean she wants that absolute worse for Vic. I can see that from the beginning as you must remember this was to support someone who went through it. As far as what Monica felt might happen to Vic is unclear but it doesn’t mean she wanted the wore for him. Remember you can want someone to get in trouble but at the same time not receive the full punishment.
I bring up the last point as I don’t think this should have ever come to the point of death threats of violence of any kind. So I again I hope this is a moment in time where we can all move away from. Even now I still feel confused.
