Today we learn the name of Matsuzo Machida new studio which is called Wildrose. I will post the web site below but so far it seems only to opening/ greeting page is ready. Now as far as this goes many are looking at this seeing it as a sign that we will soon hear something about Shadow Hearts from the man who got our hopes up that he is interested in going back to the series. That is something we will have to see about.
At the moment in his tweets Machida talks about starting out big but not to big. What this means is that maybe a JRPG might be to much for him to do as a starting point. At the same time he still has to get the right from Universal Entertainment. Something that taking both into account might take awhile. Videogames along are a hug deal. JRPG especially so as we have seen.
On the other hand maybe now that he has his own studio Universal might work out a deal with him to develop a new entry for the series. And maybe a new JRPG in the spirit of Shadow Hearts as we have been hearing about is the first game Wild Rose brings out. And with it the start to a new series based on Shadow Hearts. (Shadow Hearts was based on Kodelka after all.)
Now will that happen I don’t know. The name was just announced and we have no idea what type of projects they have planned. Am I hopeful? Yes as I would love Shadow Hearts to be on current systems or being prepared for the next console cycle. Imagining Shadow hearts like characters with Final Fantasy VII Remake or Lost Soul Aside graphics right now and I am getting excited just thinking about it. Will it happen though. We will have to see as again we only have a name and what Machida wants to do which he has gone record saying many times. Will it happen is something we will have to see.
