Final Fantasy VII Remake now has 2 directors with Naoki Hamaguchi being moved up to co director. I guess you can say he had this role from the beginning as many said that is what he was coming on the game to be but he was official lead designer.
Today though Square Enix announce this on the recruitment page of SE. At the moment Nomura says Naoki role is vital to the game as he compares Naoki to Tai Yasue and how he was vital to KH 3 development. Hopefully this is a sign of big news for the game this year that we are all waiting for.
