Over the past few months Sony has been seen to show more censorship with its games. Fans have noticed this with nude scenes being edited or cut out in some case. This topic has come up now and then forcing some games to change this edit. Such a game is Devil May Cry 5 where Trish and Lady Nude scene is takin care of with a glare. Sony however says nothing has changed.

Further, Sony is working alongside global standards, which traditionally have been stricter on sexual imagery, opposed to other mature content, such as violence.Sony is aiming to make the PlayStation a home for all types of gamers, which doesn’t directly, but perhaps indirectly explains why it has began to crackdown more and more on extreme sexual content in games.”
Now the article suggest that these policies have been on the books for a while. It is just Sony has gone from letting things slide to enforcing them. This might be due to restriction on streaming for some platforms such as YouTube with its new restrictions on continent and demonetizing. (That last part was my guess.) We don’t know the cause but it is also worth nothing that this might not be as big of an uproar as we suspect. Some find it annoying, others find it odd and the last probably didn’t notice. This will probably very between people and game.
