After Devil May Cry 5 sky the limit on what Itsuno can do as the man is responsible for many games. One idea though was to ask Itsuno if he would like to a remake of Devil may Cry 2 which he said no but he is up to return to the universe in a surprising way. Itsuno he would like to DMC2 with Ninja Theory.
To be clear on what DMC Devil May Cry was it was Ninja Theory take on Capcom action series make it more western. This brought an interesting idea of limbo where the stage was out to get you and interesting platforming in a demonic version of the matrix.
DMC devil may cry has gained it own fan base but many Devil May Cry fans didn’t like Ninja Theory take on Capcom action based series. Well Itsuno wants to take a shot at it with the people behind it.
“It wouldn’t be DmC without Ninja Theory. On the dev side we certainly wanted to and thought we would work with Ninja Theory again to create a sequel to DmC, but that unfortunately didn’t get off the ground.”Itsuno
Matt Walker a producer on Devil May Cry 5 also agrees with Itsuno on working with Theory to give fans of DMC another game to play.
“We’d still love to see a sequel, but we think it absolutely has to be made by Ninja Theory–so much of the amazing style and substance in that game was only possible because they have such a knack for what’s cool.” Matt
Now this may sound insane given how devil may cry fans reacted to DMC being divided. But It work so long as they are separate. The one thing that really pissed off fans was the DMC being a reboot to the main Devil May Cry line. To remind everyone this would only happen if it did well. Which with the mixed reception and Devil May Cry 5 that is not the case. To have them being to separate series of games will be the perfect remedy. How they would go about that is something we need to see going forward. That is if Capcom says yes to it. Maybe we can say alternate universe who knows. But let me know your thoughts.
