Backward Compatibility Is Really Important To The PlayStation 5 According To Sony

According to Sony the PlayStation 5 being backwards compatible is really important to them. This is due to the fact Sony wants a smooth transition between the 2 consoles. This has been confirmed in an interview with one of developers system Mark who says it will go back as far as PS4. But he only confirmed that much. In this article we see the author lay out the reasoning why it will only go back that far. The PS4 did well and to them it didn’t make much sense to go further back as the PS3 is for the better part all PSN (PlayStation Network) with earlier games being remade if they are worth it.

With that said the author Tyler Fischer also states that there equal number of people saying the PS5 will further back than PS4. Not only that but not all the games from those ears are online. And while we would love to see a remake of the greats of the old console that isn’t the case for all of them. I would love to see remakes of Bloody Roar, Legend Of Dragoon and my beloved Shadow Hearts. But until then I would like to play them on the original disc without having to switch consoles. And for those wondering we still have no word on the PS2 classics coming to the PS4. With it ending its life cycle in a few years some think Sony is thinking of not bothering until PS5. Let me know what you think about this below.
