I broke down a few episode of Bungou Stray Dogs season 3. To be fair though I should do them all. So we would touching on the episode 1 & 2 which is a flash back. The flash back serves as a way to explain hw Chuuya and Dazai become part of the port mafia as when we saw them fight together during season 2 and the dead appeal movie we see that they are clear opposites. With said though I will be covering spoilers so please stop reading and check out these episode. AGIAN SPOILERS AHEAD.
Now these 2 episode focus on 1 thing and that the old boss of the Port Mafia has returned. If you do not know the current boss Ogai Mori was a doctor to the previous and because he wasn’t making much sense towards the end killed him. We know this as his last living day he ordered the doctor to relay an order to all port mafia members to kill all there enemies no matter how many die. But taking this Mori kills him and uses Dazai as a witness to his will of making him Mori boss of the port mafia. With him being revived Mori knows that people still loyal to the old boss would turn against and thus sends Dazia to investigate.
Now Dazai runs into Chuuya and after a small fight they run into the old boss who appears along with black flames which the anime shows as purple. But what this means he is alive or at the very least is up and moving around. This confirms the rumor that is true that he has returned or at the very least can be said which only puts urgency on this mystery getting solved which means that Mori will have to do more than just rely on Dazai intelligence. Which means he will need to bring in an outsider such as Chuuya.
Now Chuuya is not with the port mafia but one fractions opposing them. So in order to get him to work with them he takes member from this group which he reveals to be nothing but kids with guns and no abilities. In fact Chuuya is the only one who can fights back which made it easy. So we have it that Dazia is working on the case as he would be tortured and given a painful death if he isn’t. Chuuya is fighting to save his fiends as well as get to the bottom of this mystery himself. But the thing to keep in mind here is that Mori is having them work together for other reasons as he hints at before the screen goes black.
Now this brings them to Rondo who we are introduced to as he is the one binding Chuuya when we return to Mori office. He has a power of manipulating space. But before they can even get to him we find he was attacked by the other group GRS. These armed soldiers are taken out quickly by Chuuya showing more of his high level combat ability as well as his power. But that isn’t the big take away here as we get to see something new with Dazia. Now Dazai character issue is he is suicidal and is trying to take himself out in the most painless way possible which with a promise with a drug from Mori is how the doctor got him to take the job. With said though we don’t really see him killing for fun. Here we see him just lose himself in it as Dazia is over this guy and is emptying the gun into him with a wicked smile on his face until Chuuya kicks the gun out of his hand. Chuuya says we don’t shoot dead bodies to which Dazai responds yes. That is wat normal people would think. It is almost as though Chuuya knocked Dazai out of a trance.
Now we go from her to talk to Rondo to see there are some perps to being an executive in the port mafia as this big mansion is his. But we soon discover that the only lead we have in tis mystery of the boss reappearance is the black flames which were brought with Akrabaki. Rondo was on a mission when his team was attack by the creature. Now here are 2 things that is taken away here from this as Dazia hears his story and notices facts are not lining up. Chuuya notices the way he is talking and then he see that something is off.
After going to the arcade and a few matches we see that these 2 are s confident they make a small wager on it. This wager is doing what the other one says. Something that is interrupted by other members of the sheep which only know that there members are missing. Remember they have no idea of the deal Chuuya was forced into. Something that Dazai plays with in some degree. He tells Mori to let the kids go but Chuuya is still in his debt which not explaining himself cast doubts on him as he goes to see who is right.
Rondo was the one behind the mystery. Dazai noticed that Rondo described the ocean it was impossible for him to see it from where he was. Chuuya noticed it had to be him as he the way he decribed the Arabaki was off. This is where learnd Rondo was looking for Arahabaki for awhile and Chuuya is him. But the way Chuuya describes it this form of him sounds more out of control than corruption. Corruption is Chuuya power out of control with great power at the coast of his life. This form is hard to tell as this seems to be him without no thought or understanding. We will have to see as I doubt it will be the last time it will be referenced.
