Today we will be breaking down Bungou Stray Dogs season 3 season finale ep12 echo. There will be spoilers involved in breaking down so if you haven’t please check out the episode as well as previous episodes. AGIAN SPOILERS AHEAD. IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SPOILED STOP NOW.
Alright so we being with a chase as Atsushi and Aktugawa are in pursuit of the gifted with the virus ability. This done with the nut cracker in the back ground as well as Dazia telling them not let themselves get even a cut or they will be infected. Basically meaning the virus ability works the same way normal viruses work in term of infection.
Now keep the fact the music is playing as it will become important later. But this chase is made complicated by explosives and another gifted. This gifted is loyal to Fyodor and can control earth. This is a big issue for Atsushi and Akutgawa since they are in a cave.
Now mind you this is all happening as both the agency and the port mafia are waiting outside for Fyodor to show himself. This has Dazia getting info on all the facts so that they can get to Fyodor. Reason being is that Fyodor and Dazai think alike as we saw in episode 8 of season 3. But what soon notice is that not even Dazia can figure where Fyodor could have gone
But this is only one half as what is going on as the boys deal with the earth manipulator. Even though they are over power from being surrounded by his ability they do have on advantage. As rivals they constantly fight eachother and thus they know how the other thinks and thus they can plain without words. This gives them an opening but they learn they cannot beat this guy that easy as he survives Aktugawa impaling him.
Now I can think of this as Fyodor thinking ahead again maybe modifying this man in more than one way but that is not the only problem. As Dazai in command of the overall operations we see that non of the people that are leaving is Fyodor. Now even though Dazai only checks one of them he does as he is going on the presumption that is how he would do it and thus Fyodor would do the same. But with that not being the case Dazai is shocked and must admit he doesn’t know where Fyodor is.
Back inside the cave Aktugawa and Atsushi now seem to be on the losing end of this fight as they sink into something I guess is quicksand or the like. It isn’t mentioned in the episode. But this leads a heart to heart between the two rivals and oddly enough a merger between there abilities for Atsushi to use. Now this should be incredible as now we have Rashomon defense and range combined with Atsushi were tiger overall physical abilities. There is more that as this combination also give the were tiger more power allowing to cut space. Now this gives Atsushi 2 capabilities. 1 is now he can cut virtual anything and 2nd is he can cut space and go where ever he wants. In otherwords he can make portals. This not only gives him more power but now there is no wat to defend yourself from him and thus we get some cool animation and a cool finish.
Which cannot be said for the virus ability gifted who meets Mori and Fukuzawa along with there subordinates outside. But the one thing we see is that Fyodor is no where to be seen and at that point we learned that he was never there. Remember this is a closed off systems and with Katia hacking in there I no way they could have used it without him talking. Now this is the cool part of this exchange to me. Fyodor used song request to rely communication to his subordinate. This explains why the guy was keen on listening to the radio before responded. Remember he said he can’t hear the radio and then answer Pushikin question. To trick us into thinking it was the same space the show did so clever animation which makes this a nice exchange but it isn’t the only one.
Fyodor is leaving only to be shocked to see Dazai. He just stands as he thinks of how there is no way Dazai would know where he was. That is until we see Francis who reveals they used the eyes of god. Now this ministry forces come in to take Fyodor in but we learn 3 things. 1 Fyodor ability activates if you touch him. 2nd we might not seen all of his organization. I say this as he gets ready to leave Fyodor comes out and says he will crush the agency and port mafia with his next move. We don’t know what the move is but considering they are on to him he it would take more than himself especially since he had both the police force and underground after him. 3rd no one still knows what his ability is. Francis asked Dazai who can only say he has no idea.
From here we have season closer with the new season seeing a rematch with Atsushi and Akutgawa on one condition. Akutgawa must not kill anyone for six months. This would mean Akutgawa who is the port mafia big enfocerer will now have to do it without killing anyone. To Dazai this means that his former apprentice will have to walk the same road his dead friend Oda did. And while that is interesting to look forward to see I am wonder how long Chuuya stays in the book that Rampo trapped him. But with that the season close and look forward to the next.
