Sony On Marvel Anime & Why It Failed

Sony is looking to revive Marvel Anime but in doing so you must look to see where it went wrong before. The VP for Sony had this to say about that.

““The Marvel anime adaptations were failures. The anime fans didn’t want them, and neither did the superhero fans. You have to think about what your audience wants too.”Tony Ishizuka Vice President of International Productions for Sony Pictures

Okay I need to say this. The Marvel anime wasn’t that bad to me. I Love X men and Blade with Iron man being a 50/50. Wolverine was hard for me to get into only because I couldn’t get past the dubbed voice as he was doing Christin Bale in Batman and trying to hard to sell the it.

X men felt as though it could work with one I grew up with on Fox 5. It practically did since it started after the X men met the hellfire club for the phoenix saga. Blade felt was basically vampires meet martial anime. Iron man art style was anime but the story did feel as though it was in the same vein as the old ones. With that said I am glad they are giving it another try and very interested to see where they will go and where they will air.
