The King Of Fighters XV is something we are looking forward too and can’t stop thinking about. We know we should hear something this year about the next entry and this brings us to the roaster. One of the many characters people are expecting is Rugal.
The big boss is in high demand but how will he appear is hard to say. If SNK brings in Rugal we will either have him as DLC, Mid boss which I will cover in another post since he isn’t the only who would fit that category. The last choice is that he is in the game official which means he would need a team to enter. But who would that be. Many would say Vice and Mature but that isn’t the only option.
Above are 2 people related to Rugal. The man in the middle is his brother who was the one who raised Adel and Rose. He was supposed to appear in XIII but it didn’t happen due to the burden of developing character for the game. The man on the phone is Adel himself. If Rugal is to have a team these 2 would fit it.
This team them would be family as many other have been as well as style. But similar to Ikari or Kyokugen Karate team just because they share the same style doesn’t mean they will be just copy and past. While we don’t know how Adel Uncle would fight we do know how he does. He uses his feet for the repuken and his genocide cutter is either slide or one hit. This is different from Rugal who uses his hand for repuken with his genocide cutter being a normal 3 hit special. As you can sense we are getting a master and student difference in skills. The brother then would have special probably on par with Rugal but not same. Similar to most rivals in fighting games.
But that is not all as Adel still as a story to tell. In the Ash saga h had his own story which was cut off. It is something SNK has been thinking about as you see above. Above are unused images from kof 99. Yes, Adel and Ros were meant to appear during the Nest saga. Adel seems conflicted as he has Rugal power and skills but doesn’t seem to have his dark nature. So with him we can get the story type of someone going against there family. SNK wanted to do this during the Ash saga as some in the company called Adel the second protagonist. But that is not all. This team dynamic would be also something to watch as we see how Rugal takes in being gone for so long.
Rugal for the most part is crazy on destruction and chaos. No telling on how he would react to seeing Adel as he is now. Not only that but Rugal has some scores to settle so he will be aiming at everyone. Meaning Ikari will be watching him as he aims for team Japan and if they are in the game Team Oriochi. And then we have the brother who would probably keep the team together. Plus we still have to remember Adel still wants to settle things with those from the past for what they did to Rose. If don’t know in KOF XI Rose was put under the control of those of the past by Botan. After coming out of it Adel promised in XIII he would get them for this.
Now I would suggest Rose but she isn’t a fighter. Now that can change but if that case I think SNK would have done so by now. But it can happen. Either way those are my thoughts on this. If you have any thoughts about this let me know in the comments.
