Guilty Gear 2020 announcement has everyone hyped. And as we get excited to see more of the game we can’t help but speculate on what we will be getting. One to look forward to is story mode.
Story mode is a big thing in Arc System games as we see with Blazblue, Dragon Ball FigherZ and Guilty Gear. But while the others go story modes to play through Guilty Gear Xrd introduced us to a movie story mode. Basically we sit back and watch to probably the closest thing to a Guilty Gear anime.
The old GG story telling had altered version some of which you could unlock. This would go for ex, black or gold versions of the characters. It didn’t stop there as the characters got special intros. By that I don’t mean the camera angles we see in Xrd games but rather intros as we saw them having which ranged from special conversations to them doing a quick spare that had the characters using altered moves.
Now some fans want to see the classic version return giving us not only playable story modes but also challenges in them such boss version of characters limits on your character etc. Now to we did see some this in Revelator 2 where arcade mode offered ex versions of the characters as final bosses each having there own reanimated move. This came with an extended story mode offer more cinematic enjoyment.
I do hope we get to see more of the old way GG tells its story. At the same time I can see them doing what they did with Revelator 2. But by turning arcade mode into story mode to some degree it isn’t really giving us the full thing. But we will learn about this as Daisuke and the others show more of the game. Until then let me know what you think about this.
If you like what you see please like and follow. As always thank you for reading.
