The King Of Fighter XV announcement has fans pumped which means more theorizing on what to expect in the next installment. We have been talking about teams but along with normal characters bosses maybe returning as well. Verse end quotes for some teams suggested many dead bosses were coming back today I would like to go over them.
For those who are regulars you know we have covered some returning bosses such as Rugal, Igniz and Krizlaid. But we have done so with them as team players or official entries. Something that I must admit doesn’t sit well with long term fans as boss characters are solo act with the exceptions of Chizuru who after being a mid boss would join with Kyo and Iori to form the sacred treasure team.
First I should explain that this doesn’t refer the mid boss before the final boss. This would take place mid way through the game. Such with KOF XI where you would haves secret characters challenge you or Capcom Vs SNK 2 where you would face Geese or Bison mid way before facing other teams. This would allow SNK to bring back fan favorite bosses with little to no problem. Plus this could help finish off some stories or allow SNK do multiple ones.
In KOF tournaments there are a few teams who are tied to the main story but at the same time they either have stories of there own or come at it from a different angle. Bring in boss characters can resolve these issues or add a new view point. If you are a psycho soldier fan we can bring in Ron as a special boss character to bring up the story point so that in the ending Athena and the others can resolve it for those who were interested in that story. You may want to explain where Verse came from scientifically. Well we can have K fight Igniz and he can hint at NEST looking into the creature. For the ending K team can fight the main boss giving context to what they heard from Igniz or Krizlaid. Fatal Fury team can fight Geese or Jeff to learn a little more about the scroll with the ending understanding why it was written. We have many choices.
As far as playable we can milk this. I see the boss characters as DLC when it comes to them being playable. Not all at once. Basically see them being released with normal DLC character maybe 1 or 2 depending on how SNK does this. It is a little idea but it is something to take into account so we can make a lot of fans happy. Lets us not forget fans have been wanting to play as Rugal, Krizlaid and many others. This would be a I way to satisfy them. At least that is how I see it. Let me know you thoughts.
