With The King Of Fighters VX we are waiting to see who makes the cut. And with these post I hope to cover what is possible as what we know can happen. In some cases who will come back from old returning characters to old back ground story characters who were killed off and never got a chance to grace the KOF stage.
One of them is Gaidel Leona father. One of many characters hinted to have been brought back through Verse Leona father has returned or is set to return as many people who were thought dead or vanished appeared upon Verse defeat. With that said what do we look forward to as we await the announcement of this roaster.
First off everything about Gaidel would be new. From looks to gameplay. As you can see from above we don’t know what the guy looks like. Basically we have this from Leona violent flash back to how Leopold Goenitz made her kill her own parents. This was because Gaidel did fall in line with them. Some used betrayed but he didn’t take action against them. Since he just fled I would like to say he ran away from his responsibilities. For this Leopold set out to kill them. As such we only think or believe Gaidel will share Leona blue hair at best as it could come from her mother.
As for gameplay this effects as usually you use the closest relation to the character to guess as to how the person related to them will play. This is true for Kim kids as they have his moves or there own elemental themed version of his moves. All the shotos (Shotokan fighters) in street fighter as they play off of Ryu and Ken. For the dark mercieless side you look at Akuma and evil Ryu. For those learning or not there yet you look at Sakura who picked on the moves as well as Sean who learned from Ken and was originally meant to represent the shotos in SF3. For families we have in house fighting styles such as Kyo who shares moves with his father. As such we see him using his version of the city leveler for his Climax move in KOF XIV. He also shares it with Shingo who is similar to SF Sakura who move set is weaker than there respected master or favorite fighter.
To explain Leona is an adopted kid by Heidern who was friends with her father. Leona learned his style of combat which doesn’t help matters as this also means we don’t how he will play either. The best I can think of though is we will have choices.
You see we could have Gaidel be a character experiment with and thus we have him use a new fighting style or themed. You can have him use a new version of Kick boxing or another martial art. This is due to the fact Gaidel remembers Goenitz visit and what he did. As such he would be one of the characters to find a style as far away from the Oriochi as he could. This is rare but we see it such as with Jin Kazama in Tekken when he threw his old family fighting style to take up traditional Karate.
The other would be still being attached to the Oriochi Gaidel still had there moves. These would include slashing like attacks that Mature Iori and Goenitz share with there moves as a theme. Again We can’t count Leona as she was taught by Heindern how to fight. This would of course be complemented with water as that is Gaidel element. He might get his own rekka set with this giving his water some range or different routs to keep the opponent on there toes as they never know which way he is coming.
The only other thing that would come of this would be a new version of the maiden masher using water. This moves has seen 2 people use it so far with Iori who has now shown a fire version and non fire version as well as Goenitz. He uses the true version but both maiden mashers attack with the number of hits being 8 on normal super to symbolize the 8 maidens sacrificed. Gaidel can use his own. with water.
In terms of plot he should help Kyo and the sacred treasure keep Oriochi at bay while getting to see how his little girl has grown into a fine solder with the moment of outrage. It would also be cool to see how he stands up to someone like Goenitz and the other heavenly kings as well as normal one such as Leona and Iori. Remember we have 4 specially powers Oriochi members in the heavenly kings. Leona and Iori are in terms Oriochi power supposed to be normal members. With Gaidel return we can see what that truly means as you have to take in consideration we have not seen Oriochi members face of to get an idea of how the members power structure minus Oriochi as he is at the top of pack.
