We have learned this week that of the many games to be shown off at Tokyo game Show 2019 is Guilty Gear 2020. With a live stream and Daisuke fans will be itching to see what him and his team have to show. I thought it would be nice to go over that and take a few guesses on what we can expect.
First we will probably get to see more of Sol and Ky. The main rivalry for the series between fire and lightning the 2 are the only returning cast members shown off so far. Thus we will go in on this learning what is not just new with both of them regarding there moves but maybe some of the mechanics as we will probably get an idea on what has been added to the game this time around. We see stage transition from Dragon Ball FighterZ and as such we need to see how far this goes as in the teaser we see not just hits that take you from one side to the other but also some air combos as the difference when Ky launched so to when it was reversed.
We will probably learn more about the new character. The man who appeared at the end of the teasers is intriguing to say the least as fans have speculated many things about him. From him having magic as well as tech as well as him being part of the holy order as his clothes seem to indicate such. They also seem to indicate he is protecting something as some fans see his belt saying keep out as a hint that he is guarding something. We also need to see what is up with that huge monster behind him as some think that is a gear other don’t know what it is.
Even though this is going to show us what Daisuke and team red are planning to do with the game we shouldn’t take it as finale build. We have no idea how far along the game is and as such as should take what we see as work in progress similar to a beta. So when we see how Ky lightning force looks or how sol bandit revolver appears. I’m saying this as some people may take what we are seeing as final build not realizing we still have some polish and testing to go through before than.
Story is something else we hopefully get to hear more about. For this I am not talking about the story carried on from Rev 2 as I expect that to be the case but what I am talking about is the way Daisuke described the story is a but much. He describes ad moving forward but a restart in some cases confusing some fans while others see him moving forward but clarifying some things or hopefully wrap things up. One example is what they did when final revealing Dizzy father to be Sol. (Finally as they went above and beyond to say he wasn’t the father.) This also brings back to mechanics as some are seeing what Daisuke is talking about remake/ moving forward talking is that he will be bring back the old stuff fans who have been here since the x series have been longing for such as ex mode, missions etc. as we have been asking about it hoping to see it being told eventually. Hopefully we this game we get that or explained if we or not.
I say this as we have to remember that since we looking at the game still way off form being released they can only go into it so far. For instance we might learn more about the new character in terms of name and area but as to why he is wearing holy order uniform we might not learn that until later on as that might be part of the story. If that is the case we might only get some info in that department but on the other hand we must also remember the demo in November. I say that as this would be the perfect time to show us who will be in that demo to get us hyped on who we will see.
Those are my thoughts on this. I know it sounds like a lot but basically I am asking them to elaborate on the demo and show us what these 3 will be able to do. In short go over what they presented to us so far. If you all have any thoughts on what to expect from the expo please let me know.
