The King Of Fighters A New Beginning had a new chapter. It has not been translated but I think it needs to be explained. Basically breaking down what we have seen.
Basically we have Athena vs Sylvie. Basically Nest electrical power versus ancient god power. Remember Athena power is that of reincarnated god so she can over power Sylvie. Now this isn’t just Athena power that gives her this edge but Sylvie. Remember that Sylvie is a failed clone as Nest was trying to get her to manifest her electrical power earlier but couldn’t. Instead she has only been able to access it recently meaning she still has no idea and I bet Nest has no idea what she is capable of. We still don’t know why Igniz was referenced for her when Verse defeats as a quote in the game.
Now this fight ends by simple of Athena giving Sylvie a little idol smile. This works as Sylvie looks up to se Athena according to the story. As for the game Sylvie is a joke character so for her this works wonderfully. But with her goin down we get back to Kyo clones.
Now each one of these clones have a fragment of Kyo power. I am saying that as with Kyo clones it seems they only have a certain amount of power on top of having fashioned in one way. Basically we saw this with Kyo 1 and 2 where Kyo 1 had his 95 move set Kyo 2 had his punching set. That was for gameplay differences but in story that means that these clones are limited in what they can do. Something Chin made clear taking them out so easily. The issue here though is there are a lot of them. So many that Kensou and Athena will lose just because they will be overwhelmed.
Now we see when Kensou is taking out by one of them that there is another problem. Both seem to be exhausted and facing an army of Kyo’s is a little much. That is until the real one shows up and basically takes out a nice chunk of them showing the power difference between the real one and fakes. However he still have wounds from dealing with Iori when he went riot so how much of a difference he makes is hard to say. We will have to see in the next chapter.
