PlayStation 5 was announced today for a 2020 Holiday release. Along with this announcement we learned more about the system. One thing is that the backwards compatibility is still in the works.
When we first heard about the PS5 we learned that since it will be built similar to the PS4 that it would be backwards compatibly with the system. Well it seems they are still hard at work on that.
“Our development team is currently hard at work in order to make 100% backward compatibility with PS4 possible. Please wait for further information” Sony
Now while fans hope this goes past the PS4 those developing the PS5 says this was so the transition to PS5 would be easier compared to PS3 to PS4. Meaning the game you brought for ps4 you will be able to play will be easier than buying them again on PSN for your new system.
